WEST-EASTERN DIVAN ORCHESTRA==>Beautiful!!

Sunday==>HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout-out to my daughter (and recent grandmother) Kathryn Bendeck of Columbia, SC.

Yes, as an old-school southern gentleman and scholar, Billi Pod will not reveal to you loyal and faithful readers and followers how many years it is ... suffice to say that it is approaching the magical Six O.

And ... speaking of magical ... last night’s entertainment event ...

WEST-EASTERN DIVAN ORCHESTRA @ Carnegie Hall - Beethoven’s Symphonies No. 6 “Pastoral” and No. 7==>BEAUTIFUL.

The house was sold-out for this third of four concerts, and there was a rather long line for cancellations. There were a lot of mid-20s folks in my general area and they all seemed to be really into the program.

Just moments before the concert started an Asian lady sat down across the aisle from me and ... WTF ... she was carrying an infant who appeared to be around 1 yr. old. WTF? I thought Carnegie Hall had a policy against infants?? Good news==>no problem with the baby and they stayed for the entire concert.

Sometime during the concert it had begun to lightly snow and there was some accumulation, especially at the crosswalks. I was very careful walking to and from the subway stations.

Made it back to PHC without any problems.

Today’s entertainment event is a return to Carnegie Hall for the fourth, and final, concert in the All-Beethoven-Symphonies series ...

2:00==>WEST-EASTERN DIVAN ORCHESTRA @ Carnegie Hall - Beethoven’s Symphonies No. 2 and No. 9. (discounted ticket)

For the majestic 9th Symphony the orchestra will be joined by 4 vocal soloists and The Westminster Symphonic Choir. This is a very fitting way to conclude this awesome series and I know the orchestra and conductor will receive a roaring standing ovation.

When the concert is over I will come back to PHC for ...

6:30==>49ERs vs. RAVENS IN SUPER BOWL XLVII on CBS. This will be the battle of the Harbaugh brothers.

None of my AA buddies opted to host this year, so I will watch the game from the warm and cozy confines of PHC. At half-time will grill a steak on my George Forman grill to go with a baked potato and some grilled onions ...

Ain’t gonna watch any of the half-time show, that is for certain ... the TV will be on mute or another channel the whole time.

Billi Pod’s prediction==>49ers 27, Ravens 20.

Sooooooooo ... have a great Super Bowl Sunday everyone.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.27 miles (or, 7,147 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>1,108.87 miles

GO GATORS AND GO YANKEES!!
