The Big Apple Is On A Blizzard Alert

Friday==>At 8:30am it began to lightly snow ... the advance guard of the blizzard known as “Nemo” had arrived in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World. The projected impact will be:

noon - rain/snow mix, feels like 17º

4pm - rain/snow continues, feels like 15º;

8pm - snow, one inch per hour by 10pm, feels like 13º;

midnight - heavy snow, 30-mph winds, feels like ;

Saturday, 4am - gusts to 50-mph, feels like -2º (yeah, that’s right minus 2º);

8am - it’s over, 25-mph winds, feels like .

The accumulation in Manhattan is projected to be 12”-18”. Burrrrrrr!!

Of course it is too early to tell how all of this will impact my entertainment plans for today and the upcoming weekend. And ... yes ... I have food, water and stuff already secured.

So ... my loyal and faithful readers and followers ... why don’t we move on to Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s entertainment event ...

I posted yesterday that I would probably catch a movie, LIFE OF PI or SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, unless something of interest showed up at the last minute on one of my ticket services. Well, something did, at a theatre on my block ...

FOODACTS - “A culinary stage adventure that explores our primal connections to food, using novels, poetry, essays, letters and the bible to evidence how we relate to and obsess over food.” (Off Broadway - $9.00 TDF ticket)

Billi Pod’s report card==>C+

The ensemble cast is excellent in the 29 vignettes, all related to ... tada ... food, but ... while the concept was interesting in the beginning it began to get old about 45 minutes into the 90 minute intermission-less performance, at least for me. At least 15 minutes needs to be cut, IMHO.

Now, don’t get too riled-up about the following ... but ... in the name of fair and unbiased reporting I have to report that the audience was about 75% obese women in their late 50s. Jus reportin’.

Moving on ...

What about tonight I know you are all breathlessly asking your inner selves ...

Well ... selves ... this is what I have scheduled ...

8:00==>NEW AMSTERDAM SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA @ Symphony Space - “Major Minors” - Rachmaninov, Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor and Brahms, Symphony No. 1 in C minor. ($9.00 TDF ticket)

The bad news ... Symphony Space is located at Broadway and West 95th Street, way uptown. The good news ... the 1 train subway exit is located across the street from the venue ... meaning ... my only real exposure to the elements would be walking from my apartment the one block to the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Also, since this is not a ticket through one of my ticket services (meaning I paid for it) if I don’t show up there are no consequences.

We will just have to see how things develop. I know that Billi Pod really wants to see this concert because he loves both of the scheduled pieces.

In closing ... Billi Pod really appreciates all of the very positive feedback he received from you loyal and faithful readers and followers regarding his decision(s) about the 2013 Yankee season. Thanks!!

It is now 11:00am and the snow has stopped but it is still lightly raining and is very nasty and gloomy outside.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>1.45 miles (or, 3,173 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>1,120.48 miles

GO GATORS AND GO YANKEES!!
