SPIRITS OF EXIT ELEVEN==>C-

Good morning my loyal and faithful readers and followers. It is a somewhat warmer but overcast day here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In the World, 45º @ noon.

Let’s get this weekend posting started with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s entertainment event ...

SPIRITS OF EXIT ELEVEN, about a ragtag crew of outcasts in a rundown New Jersey strip club/pizza parlor==>C-

This so-called “dark comedy” was 100 tedious intermission-less minutes of banshee-like screaming from totally unlikeable cliché-ridden characters: the drunk, the single Mom, the control-freak, the misunderstood mother-hen, the absent Dad now seeking forgiveness etc etc etc. You get the picture.

One caveat ... to judge by the screaming response at curtain-call either Billi Pod was mistaken or the audience was filled with shills. Whatever ...

In either event ... Billi Pod says==>you are warned.

Today is an entertainment doubleheader ... starting with ...

2:00==>THE TRUTH QUOTIENT - “David is a wealthy entrepreneur who, despite great business successes, feels something is missing in his life. To ameliorate this nagging emptiness, he turns to a new company called Nureal, which promises real companionship from artificial beings.” (Off Broadway - $9.00 TDF ticket)

This show is playing at Theater Row, on my block, and is in repertory with R.U.R, which I saw on Wednesday and totally enjoyed.

Then for the evening is a show playing at a theater in my immediate ‘hood ...

8:00==>CHANNELING KEVIN SPACEY -  After a particularly soul-squashing day at work, Charlie, a meek pushover, has an epiphany and resolves to change his life -- by morphing into the real-life version of Al Pacino's most famous characters, resulting in a series of devastating and hilarious confrontations!” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This show has been playing for over a year, which is a pretty long time for Off Broadway. I have put off seeing it because I don’t particularly like the theater complex where it is playing. Finally decided to give it a shot, so we will see.

Woke up this morning with a runny nose and coughing. Hope and pray this isn't the beginning of something worse. I don’t feel that bad.

I’ve had my flu shot. Have begun my usual regimen of extra vitamin C and Echinacea & Goldenseal drops. It usually works rather quickly for me, so we will see.

Don’t like to go to the theater with a runny nose and coughing.

Anyway ...

HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.77 miles (or, 8,241 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>1,017.83 miles

Mileage remaining until 4/23/13==>61.17 miles
