Happy 30th Birthday Chris Falletta!

A Happy 30th Birthday shout-out to my youngest grandson Chris Falletta aka Topher, who presently lives in Apopka, FL.

This afternoon Topher and his fiancé Ashley will head up to Columbia, SC, to spend the weekend with his older brother Alex aka Army Guy and his wife Gina and their adorable daughter Saylor.

It is my understanding that they will all have an early Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday with Kathi and John Bendeck.

Have a great time guys!!

Last nights NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC concert==>A

Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 was awesome as was Dvorak’s Carnival Overture. Unfortunately, the world premiere of Lindberg’s Piano Concerto No. 2 was the atonal piece of dreck I had anticipated. It was a shame to waste the talents of the world-renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman on this piece of crap.

When the concert was over I walked back to the apartment while listening to the YANKEES/KANSAS CITY game. The Yankees lost 4-3 to the lowly Royals. It was their  third straight loss.

But, my loyal and faithful readers, losing the game pales in significance to the horror that occurred before the game started ... yes ... there is ...

Gloom and doom in the Yankee Universe because we lost our closer Mariano Rivera for the rest of the season (and maybe forever) due to a torn ACL that happened as he was shagging fly balls during batting practice. OMFG!!

The headlines in today’s papers tell the story ...

“NO MO! Torn ACL ends Rivera’s season; career in jeopardy.” - NY Post

EXIT SANDMAN - Yanks hold breath as Mo injures knee during BP.” - Daily News

“Rivera Hurts Knee; Career May Be Over.” - NY Times

Couldn’t be worse news for an already iffy season!! OMFG!!

At the moment there is no word from Yankee management whether Mo’s replacement will be Dave Robertson or Rafael Soriano.

Well ... moving on ...

Tonight’s entertainment event is ...

8:00==>A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN - “This musical comedy chronicles the life of Jake Ehrenreich, a uniquely talented American born child of Holocaust survivors.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

I hope everyone out there in the hinterlands, boondocks and wastelands has a Happy Weekend!!

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
