Let’s start this posting with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s THE GAME OF LOVE - Musical’s In Mufti Series @ York Theatre, about the frivolities and foibles of love in 19th-century Vienna==>A.
It was absolutely lovely and a wonderful evening’s entertainment. Regretfully, this is the final show in the series featuring works by Tom Jones, who was in the audience.
Jim Morgan, the Artistic Director, and his crew at The York Theatre win a special round of applause from Billi Pod for this outstanding project which was so satisfying to theater-nuts like moi.
Yesterday afternoon the Yankees got a great performance from Phil Hughes, who went 7 2/3 innings, giving up only 1 run on 6 hits. The Bronx Bombers beat Seattle 6-2.
Today is an AWESOME doubleheader for Billi Pod, beginning with ...
1:05==>YANKEES/SEATTLE @ Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built.
Andy Pettitte will be on the mound making his first back-from-retirement start. Andy’s last appearance was in game 3 of the 2010 ALCS. Without a doubt he will receive a roaring standing ovation from what I am rather certain will be a near-sellout crowd.
GO ANDY!!
Then for this evening, after the game, will be ...
8:00==>SPRING’S AWAKENING - “A cast of 22 twenty-somethings brings Frank Wedekinds’ classic play and tragi-comedy about teenage sex back to life in a Midtown theatre.” (Off Broadway - $9.00 TDF ticket)
The musical version of the show, called Spring Awakening, with music by Duncan Sheik, received eleven 2007 Tony Award nominations, winning eight, including Tonys for best musical, direction, book, score and featured actor.
I totally loved it. Saw it twice when it was Off Broadway at the Atlantic Theater and then 3 times when it was on Broadway.
GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
