Not A Nice Night At Yankee Stadium

BITCH! MOAN! GRUMBLE! WHINE!

Well, my loyal and faithful readers, Billi Pod has to admit that last night’s 5-0 loss to The Orioles was painful to watch from his new overhang-protected seat in Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built.

Yes, it was very cold and windy==>low 50s at game time. I dressed warmly but it was still unpleasant.  And, yes, I stayed until the bitter end, hoping for a miracle comeback - which didn’t happen.

For this series the Yankee bats were as putrid as our starting pitching has been. Barf!! Now it seems as if in every game someone goes down with an injury.

Folks ... except for the bullpen==>we’ve got big-time problems in every aspect of this team. Not happy!

Tonight we start a 4 games series in Kansas City. Our lineup for the series will be filled with minor-league call-ups.

Anyway ... moving on to a more positive note ...

Tonight’s entertainment event is ...

7:30==>NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC @ Avery Fisher Hall - “The program is: Dvorak - Carnival Overture; Lindberg - Piano Concerto No. 2; and, Tchaikovsky - Symphony No. 4” (subscriber’s complimentary ticket).

I love Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 and the Carnival Overture. I have a gut feeling that the Lindberg work is going to be a piece of atonal dreck. Hopefully I am wrong in that regard.

You are no doubt wondering what a “subscriber’s complimentary ticket” is? Well, one of the perks of being a NY Phil subscriber is that for every series (I subscribe to 3) you are given a voucher for a free concert of your choice. Nice.

When the concert is over I will walk back to the apartment while listening to the YANKEES/KANSAS CITY game on my trusty and ancient Walkman.

I am happy to report that Alex, Gina, and their adorable Saylor are getting settled back into their home in Elgin, SC. Yes ... Alex has made the transition from being Army Guy to being Errands and Repair Boy.

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
