It Is Errands & Stuff Monday

Today, being Monday, Billi Pod has been involved in errands and stuff and that is the reason this posting is both late and somewhat shorter ... OK ... hold the applause ... remember ... you can run but you can’t hide from the wraith of Billi Pod ... anyway ...

Let’s get the barfy stuff out of the way ... meaning ... the fact that The Bronx Bombers were shutout yesterday 3-0 by The Tampa Bay Rays, meaning ... we were swept in the opening series. The Yankees are 0-3 for only the 8th time in franchise history and for the first time in 14 years.

Yeah ... I know ... I know ... early in the season and stuff like that ... but it still hurts and what makes it hurt even worse ... yes ... you baseball fans know what is coming ... the lowly Mets are 3-0. Tonight we start a 3-game series in Baltimore against The Orioles who are 3-0. Last year’s rookie sensation Ivan Nova will be on the mound for the Yankees.

As I write this posting it is 3:30pm and, thus far, nothing of any interest has shown up on any of my ticket services. Had considered catching a movie, probably AMERICAN REUNION with Jason Biggs and the “American Pie” gang, but now I am considering just giving myself a day/night off (please don’t tell Mayor Mike) and staying in and watching the game. If the game goes bad early-on I can still catch a later show time ... we will see ...

Moving on to ...

Billi Pod’s report card on THE COLUMNIST, about legendary journalist Joseph Alsop who becomes embroiled in political and personal drama in Washington in the 1960s, starring John Lithgow==>A

Even though the show is in very early previews Lithgow gives an award-winning performance portraying a basically unlikeable character. The rest of the cast is stellar, particularly Boyd Gaines as the brother.

Act one takes a bit too long to develop but Act two more than makes up for it. Billi Pod has no trouble in recommending this drama to his fellow theater-nuts.

Had a great time last night at Easter Dinner with Michael Pederson and Dennis Dohman, and friends, at their Chelsea apartment. Great food and terrific company.

THANKS GUYS!!

I will close by sharing a link to an article about the last years of Urban Meyer’s tenure as head-coach of The Florida Gators. Man ... is it scary ... but I urge you Gator fans to read it because I think it explains a lot ...

Remember ... I report - you decide!

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
