The Bronx Bombers have headed North to Boston and will play the F**KSOX today at 3:05pm in that fetid cesspool of a stadium known as Fenway Park. The Bombers will participate in the ceremonies honoring the 100th anniversary of Fenway and will be dressed in throwback uniforms representing a long-ago era of baseball.
It is my understanding that all living former F**KSOX players have been invited to attend the ceremonies, but ... guess who wasn’t invited? Don’t know? Give up? Well ... the F**KSOX didn’t extend an invitation to former general manager Theo Epstein, who was the primary architect of the 2004 and 2007 World Series championship teams. Yes, Epstein, who was responsible for building the team that broke The Curse of The Bambino, was snubbed.
Real class F**KSOX management ... real class.
This hasn’t been a good start for the F**KSOX, they are 4-8 under their new manager Bobby “The Mouth That Roars” Valentine, and are, in my humble opinion, still suffering from their monumental collapse at the end of last season.
Yes, my loyal and faithful readers ... it should be an interesting 3-game series and Billi Pod will be glued to the tube for each game.
A bit more baseball ...
Last night at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed and Ego Built, Phil Hughes pitched well enough to get the win as the Bronx Bombers won 7-6 over the Twins on 3 HRs from Curtis Granderson.
Hughes got off to a very rocky start but settled down and was bailed-out by the Bomber bats. It was a very exciting game to watch. It was windy and a bit nippy in the late innings.
Everyone seated around me was new and now I am pretty certain this will be the pattern for most of the season. There was a rather creepy experience though ... what you are no doubt asking? Well ... it went down like this ...
Seated to my immediate left was a couple in their 50s. During the game, from the first inning until they left in the 7th inning the woman knitted ... yes, she constantly knitted and the man read a book. WTF!!
Folks ... I am not making this up ... they seemed to be totally oblivious to what was happening in front of them on the field. It was as if they were seated on a bench in Central Park. And, they didn’t talk to each other. WTF!!
I so wanted to take a picture of them but just couldn’t. This was one of the weirdest things I had ever observed at Yankee Stadium.
Weird!!
Anyway ... moving on ...
