OUCH!! That hurts!!

Derek Jeter, 6 hits away from the 3,000 mark, left the game last night in the 5th inning with a calf strain.

OUCH!!

Not sure how long he will be out. He is yet another aging Yankee out of the lineup due to injuries.

The Yankees lost 1-0==>again failing to get key hits with runners in scoring position ... like ...

In the first inning they had the bases loaded and no outs==>nada.

In the second inning they had men on first and second with no outs==>zippo.

In the third inning they had men on first and second with one out==>zilch.

AJ Burnett aka Loser Boi pitched an excellent game, going 7 2/3 innings, giving up only 1 run on 5 hits. He deserved better.

The Yankees did take 3 out of 4 against Cleveland, but, the FuckSox are on a 9-1 roll.

Tonight the Texas Rangers come into Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed Built, for a 3 game series. Our ace CC Sabathia will be on the mound.

On to other things and stuff ...

Tonight I had hoped to finally get a chance to see John Scott Reed’s new pad in the wilderness known as Brooklyn. But, it isn’t to be ... but no problem because he has invited me to the opening performance of an Off Broadway show ...

7:15==>THE EYES OF BABYLON - “A one-man play written and performed by Jeff Key about how his Southern upbringing and determined patriotism lead him to enlist in the Marine Corps as a 34 year-old gay man. When the U.S. is attacked less than a year later on 9/11 Key finds himself unexpectedly preparing for war.” (Off Broadway)

This is playing at the 59th Street Theaters, one of my favorite Off Broadway venues.

SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK update==>finally, at long long last, this show will have its official opening tonight, after 6 delays and nearly 180 previews performances, a record number.

The show has battled cast injuries and defections, show-stopping technical glitches, workplace safety violations, and creative-team firings. It has run up a budget of at least $75 million, meaning it will have to run at capacity for more than 4 years to recoup.

Having said all of that ... last week it grossed 1.2 million and was at 97.4% capacity.

In closing, I am happy to report that my BFF Ginger Flowers of Atlanta, GA, is getting better by the day. I have talked with her several times and she seems to be in good and positive spirits. She expects her rehab program to be finished on Wednesday and then she will be headed home. Whew!!

In this regard I want to give a major shout-out to Bruce Davidson, also of Atlanta, who has been by Ginger’s side from the very beginning of her serious health problems. Bruce has been at the forefront of a team of friends who have seen Ginger through this life-threatening ordeal. God Bless You Bruce and friends!!

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
