The New York Philharmonic Is AWESOME!!

Last night’s NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC concert was sublimely beautiful, especially Mussorgsky’s "Pictures at an Exhibition."

It was a wonderful evening, as usual. The season is coming to a close, with the final subscription series concerts next week.

When the concert was over Billi Pod did the usual==>he walked back to PHC with the Philharmonic music still resonating in his head. It felt really good and served as yet another reminder why he lives in The Greatest City In The World.

The Yankees won a nail-biter, sweeping The Rangers with a 12-inning 3-2 win on a Gardner walk-off hit.

They got a good performance from just-acquired Brian Gordon (WHO?) the 32 year old former outfielder, who was making his first major league start. I can hardly imagine what was going through his mind. His first Yankee Stadium pitch was a called strike. He pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits. Way to go!!

The Bombers head to Chicago to play The Cubs in historic Wrigley Field. The first game of the 3-game series is this afternoon @ 2:20pm EST.

Billi Pod’s entertainment event for tonight is ...

8:00==>THE SHAGGS: Philosophy of the World - “A musical based on the true story of a talentless 70s girl band that rose to cult status because of their obsessive father.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket).

This is playing at a theater on my block and has received very mixed reviews.

Looking forward==>Billi Pod has a number of movies still on his “to-see” agenda:

THE ART OF GETTING BY

so he plans to go an a movie binge over the upcoming 6 days. Notice that neither the Jim Carrey movie nor The Green Lantern are on the list - no way. Stay tuned for more info.

In closing, as you loyal and faithful readers out there in the vast hinterlands probably know, disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner resigned yesterday.

The following headlines pretty much sums it up ...

“WEINER’S RISE AND FALL: Weiner Finally Yanks Himself.” NY Post

“STICK A FORK IN WEINER.” The Daily News

“IN CHAOTIC SCENE, WEINER QUITS SEAT IN SCANDAL’S WAKE - Vulgar Shouts During Announcement in Brooklyn-Relief for Democrats.” NY Times

Yep, this can also be a tough place to live when things go bad. Jus sayin'

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
