Happy Birthday Ben Sears!!!

Let me start this posting with a huge Happy Birthday shout-out to Benjamin Mark Sears, aka Ben Ten Ten aka Transport Boi, who turns 26 today.

As you loyal and faithful readers know ... Ben now lives in the vast largely unknown area of The City known as Brooklyn.

He had the foresight to head out-of-town for his birthday and claims he will be spending the weekend white water rafting and camping. Yeah, right ... not sure I believe this but anyway ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEN!!

Since Billi Pod did not post anything yesterday we will now give his report cards on two shows ...

First - Friday night’s SIDE EFFECT==>C<==as in “contrived.”

Contains every conceivable dysfunctional marriage cliché. Decent acting. Didn’t care a flipping f**k about either character. The final scene that takes place after the couple has divorced is totally unbelievable.

Billi Pod will acknowledge that others may have a different opinion of this show ... we will see after it officially opens.

Second - Saturday afternoon’s ONE NIGHT WITH FANNY BRICE==>B.

Very entertaining, interesting and well performed. I learned a lot about Fanny Brice, especially her tendency to pick scheming assholes as her lovers/husbands.

I think 10 minutes should be cut from the show to make it into a one-act performance.

It is worth seeing.

After the show was over Billi Pod spent about 2 1/2 hours just wandering around the Hell’s Kitchen area. The weather was awesome, just perfect for wandering.

For the evening he stayed in to watch game #2 of the YANKEES/ANGELS series, at 9:00pm EST.

OK, OK, OK ... hold on a f-ing minute before you rush to judgment ...

Yes, he is aware that it was a Saturday night in The Big Apple, but folks out there in the hinterlands ... remember ... Billi Pod is retired and that means to him==>every night is a Saturday night.

Or, to put it another way ... there is no difference, for him, between a Saturday night and, say, a Monday night ... they are all the same ... that is the beauty of being retired, healthy and living in The Greatest City In The World.

Case closed ... It Is So Ordered!

Anyway ... The Yankees won 3-2 behind stellar pitching from ace CC Sabathia and a game-winning 2-run home run by A-Rod. Very exciting game.

Will watch the afternoon game, beginning at 3:35pm EST.

Tonight’s entertainment event is ...

7:30==>10 x 25 (Series B) - “A festival of 10 minute plays written by 25 playwrights.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket).

Loved Series A. Looking forward to Series B, which will have 8 plays.

The upcoming week will be awesome. On Tuesday the Boston FuckSox will be in town for a 3 game series (I have tickets to 2 games), followed by the Cleveland Indians, who have the best record in the Major Leagues (also have tickets to 2 of those games).

I am about 1/3 of the way through Tim Tebow’s book THROUGH MY EYES. Interesting so far. He has just officially announced that he has selected The Gators over ‘Bama. I didn’t realize how close he came to going to ‘Bama because of his admiration of coach Mike Shula.

Interestingly, he has yet to mention, directly or indirectly, anything about having a girlfriend, dating, having a crush, or whatever, with the opposite sex ... jus sayin’...

Hope the rest of your weekend is AWESOME!!

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
