The Patriots - Nevermore - Dave Gorman

Tuesday==>Your favorite blogger has a journalistic obligation to keep you loyal and faithful readers and followers up-to-date on the important news issues here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, as reported in the three daily papers, The New York Times, The Daily News and The NY Post. He gets all three every day, delivered to his front door.

Well, in this regard, despite what may or may not be happening locally and in the Mideast apparently the most important story involves allegations that in Sunday’s NFC Championship game the New England Patriots used footballs that were under-inflated, thereby giving them an advantage in the nasty weather. It is under investigation by the NFL.
Yeah ... to Hell with everything else ... these are the headlines in today’s papers ...

Only in New York, folks,  only in New York.

Moving on to Billi Pod’s report card on last night's Off Broadway show ...

NEVERMORE: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Poe, on a rainy night in Richmond, Edgar Allan Poe boards a steamship heading for New York. He will never reach his destination, but his voyage will lead him into the depths of memory and imagination, toward the discovery that his darkest story was his own==>A.

Poe’s troubled life is brought to the stage through music, dance, poetic storytelling, special effects and an amazing performance by a stellar cast of Canadian performers, led by Scott Shpeley as Edgar.

This cast has been virtually intact since they premiered the show back in 2008.

The story line is very emotionally involving, often troubling and highly educational.

I have to admit that I knew very little about Poe’s background. Well, now I know more than I wanted/needed to know ... but ... that’s what theater is about, isn’t it?

The house was almost sold-out and we gave the performers a roaring standing ovation at curtain call. They earned it.

Billi Pod says==>you gotta see this show ASAP!!

The show is in previews, is playing at New World Stages on West 50th Street, has a running time of 2:25, with intermission, and runs through May 31st.

Moving on ...

Billi Pod’s entertainment event for this evening couldn’t be more different from last night’s ...

7:30==>DAVE GORMAN’S POWERPOINT PRESENTATION - “One of comedy’s most innovative thinkers has formed a double act with a projector screen for an exclusive limited run.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This award-winning UK comedian just concluded a series of sold-out shows in the UK. He last appeared in the US in his one-man show that I loved, “Are You Dave Gorman?” Really looking forward to his new show.

It is playing at the Subculture Theatre on Bleecker Street in the East Village and runs through January 31st. I have been unable to dig up the running time.

Time to post this and then finish up the leftover items from yesterday’s errands and chores list.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.27  miles (or, 9,331 steps)

Total mileage for 2015==>777.85 miles (average 4.10 miles per day)
