Yankees Choked Last Night! More French Festival Info.

Dammit-to-Hell==>The Yankees blew the Tampa Bay game last night in the bottom of the 7th.

They were leading 2-1 when Granderson lost a routine fly ball, then Boone Logan made an error on a potential inning-ending double-play grounder, and then Granderson made an errant throw on a sacrifice fly, allowing what turned out to be the winning run to score. The final was 3-2.

Bartolo Colon pitched a decent game but got the loss. Bottom line, the Yanks had dead bats, sloppy defense and lost a game they should have won. Barf!!

Game 3 is tonight. Luckily the FuckSox also lost, so their lead over the Yankees remains at 1.5 games.

Oh well ... on to other things ...

Last night’s SAMUEL FRENCH SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL was excellent. Very good acting and 3 interesting plays. The house was full with a very supportive and enthusiastic audience.

Tonight @ 6:30 is more of the same, this time with 4 short plays --

The Body Washer - “A young woman is killed at a military checkpoint. Her death is seen through three sets of eyes: the body washer who prepares her remains for burial; the National Guard soldier who fired the fatal shot; and, a journalist.” Running Time: 12 minutes

The Burglar - “Andrew and Alex live a happy, normal life in the big city…until the darker side of the big city comes bursting through their door.” Running Time: 25 minutes.

Mr. Crossover - “When Little Mikey (aka Mr. Crossover), a young, arrogant streetball player tries to hustle his way into an elite gym, he runs into Joe, an older, wiser friend and learns it takes more than skills on the court to really crossover.” Running Time: 10 minutes.

Girls Play - “Two teenaged girls confront hidden feelings during a role-play having to do with their much older teacher.” Running Time: 10 minutes.

(Off Broadway - $9.00 TDF ticket).

These sound very interesting, don’t they?

Wow, it is really humid. It is only 83º at 11:00am and I have the windows open and the fan on. I usually don’t turn on the AC until it reaches 90º or until I break into a sweat, whichever occurs first. Being on the 41st floor helps a lot because of the breezes coming off the Hudson River, the same breezes that make Winter so nasty.

One thing for certain, this ain’t “walk and wander” weather. It is predicted that the temperature will reach 100º on Friday.

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
