Billi Pod’s Review of DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY.

Let’s start off this posting with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY==>A-<==outstanding cast. The two leads, Jill Paice as Grazia and Julian Ovenden as Death, are excellent. The rest of the ensemble cast is spot-on.

Very little spoken dialogue. The story is mostly developed opera-style. Meaning, you gotta listen carefully or you will have no clue about what is going on.

The story line drags a bit for the first 15 minutes then it takes off. I think at least 15 minutes could be cut. There is time because it doesn’t officially open until July 21st.

Bottom-line - on reflection, I ended up enjoying it much much more than I thought I would, so ... Billi Pod says==> See it!!

Because of the 7:30pm starting time for DEATH and its almost 2 1/2 hour running time I missed out completely on the Yankee/Indians game.

The Yankees won 9-2 with another outstanding pitching performance from CC. Jeter got 2 hits, meaning==>needs 4 more to reach 3,000. Hopefully, he will do it at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed and Ego Built, in the series against Tampa Bay beginning on Thursday.

Billi Pod has tickets for Thursday and Saturday.

It is a hot, hazy and humid day in The Big Apple so Billi Pod is gonna do some roaming later. May just head up to Central Park. We will see ...

This show is still in early previews and there is virtually no advance buzz, or at least none that I could find. Billi Pod has the gut feeling that this will fall into the “love-it” or “hate-it” category. Meaning, no middle ground. We will see.
