Report Card on EVA THE CHASTE ... And Lots More Stuff ...

Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s entertainment event ...

EVA THE CHASTE==>C<==didn’t realize that it was a one-person show until I was in my seat and reading the PlayBill. Early on Billi Pod had trouble understanding the heavy Irish accent but it got somewhat better as his ears got tuned in.

But, the story line dragged even at only 80 minutes. It was yet another unhappy dysfunctional family, about which Billi Pod could care less. And why are so many recent dramas about the family matriarch/patriarch who is either slowly dying or has just died? I find this to be icky.

There is no question that the show is directed at a female audience, as was the “talk-back” afterwards, which Billi Pod left early so he could watch the MLB All-Star Game.

And ... yep, the game was as boring as I thought it would be with the NL winning 5-1 for home field advantage in the 2011 World Series.

As expected the commentators had plenty of rather negative comments about Derek Jeter’s absence, and, as posted yesterday ... Billi Pod reluctantly agrees with the criticism. He should have been there.

Billi Pod’s entertainment event for tonight is ...

8:00==>TERRITORIES - “Tells two erotic stories of betrayal and voyeurism. In The Spoils an army official with a romantic's faith in the power of music finds his idealism shattered by a quartet of women who survive by compromise. A Light Gathering of Dust is a highly sexual, darkly humorous study of the damage inflicted on lovers by a government that rewards personal betrayal.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

Now this sound interesting, doesn’t it?

Next week, at a theater on my block, is the 36TH ANNUAL SAMUEL FRENCH OFF OFF BROADWAY SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL==>”Over six nights 40 short plays will be performed and six will be selected for ultimate publication by Samuel French, Inc.”

So, last night, after the game, Billi Pod spent several hours sorting through the offerings and matching them against his already booked events and ... tada ... he now has scheduled shows (each with 4 short plays) for next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, each on only a $9.00 TDF ticket. The total is 19 short plays ... not bad ... not bad at all ... if you are a theater-nut like Billi Pod.

Now I gotta head out to my heart docs office for my routine finger-prick to test my blood-thinner levels. When I leave his office I will walk back to PHC, a distance of approximately 2.5 miles.

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
