Dinner With The Bill - Weekly Walking Stats - The Yankees - The Gators - Public Transportation - Future Shows

Monday==>I hope that everyone out there in the morass known as cyberspace had a great weekend because your favorite Sunshine State blogger certainly did.

The weather was good, allowing for some excellent walking and wandering, the Gators won ... and ...

The highlight of the weekend was a “Boy’s Night Out” dinner at an Outback Steakhouse with my son Bill III aka The Bill.

We had good facetime and the food was totally AWESOME, as usual.

When I got back to my new apartment I had time to reflect on what an diverse and interesting week it had been with, of course, some pretty stellar walking stats --

Monday - 6.55 miles
Tuesday - 6.14 miles
Wednesday - 4.56 miles
Thursday - 5.39 miles
Friday - 5.36 miles
Saturday - 4.67 miles
Sunday - 5.08 miles

The total mileage for the week was==>37.73 miles (average 5.39 miles per day)

Yeah, I think these are some pretty impressive stats for an 81 year old guy in Florida in June. Hope you loyal and faithful readers and followers agree.

Anyway ...

Moving on to the sports scene ... for you Marty ...

Yesterday afternoon the Yankees avoided being swept by the Orioles when they won the final game of the 3-game series, 5-3, on the strength of a refurbished bullpen.

With the win we remain tied with the Rays for first place in the AL East.

Tonight at 7:10pm, down in Miami, the Yankees (34-28) will play the Marlins (27-37) in the first game of a 2-game series. On the mound for the Yankees will be Masahiro Tanaka (4-1) vs. Tom Koehler (4-4) for the Marlins.

However, the important game for Billi Pod will be the Gators vs. Virginia in The College World Series, from Omaha, Neb, carried on ESPN2 at 8:00pm

Yeah, this will be the game Billi Pod will watch in the cool and comfortable confines of his apartment.

Moving on ...

My plans for the upcoming week will be to become more familiar with the public transportation system, the bus (known as Lynx) and the commuter train (known as SunRail).

After I post this to the blog I will take a bus to the central bus station in downtown Orlando to apply for the senior citizen discount pass. The normal bus fare is $2.00 one-way. With the discount it is only $1.00. Can’t beat that.

I will walk and wander a bit in downtown Orlando and then take the SunRail back to Winter Park. The fare will be $2.00

As I said above, I will stay in for the evening and watch the Gator game.

Moving on ...

Your favorite blogger has now booked the following theater events for June ...

THE FLICK for the 2:00pm matinee on Saturday, June 20, at the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando. This show is being directed by my friend Kenny Howard.

I LOVE LUCY LIVE ON STAGE for the 8:00pm performance on Wednesday, June 24, at the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando.

DINNER WITH FRIENDS for the 8:00pm performance on Friday, June 26, at the Mad Cow Theatre in Orlando.

Yeah ... I think this sounds pretty interesting.

OK, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, it is time to post this and then head out for downtown Orlando.

GO GATORS!! GO YANKEES!!
