As you know, the post yesterday was limited to my reflections on 9/11/01. I just didn’t feel right about posting anything else on the eleventh year since that unthinkable tragedy. We now have a bit of catching up to do ... so ... let’s get right to it with ...
On Monday night I saw another Fringe Festival Encore show, RATED M FOR MATURE. "This dark comedy follows Eric, a troubled teen bullied to the breaking point. He is able to find refuge in an online game but when his mother takes his computer away, who will pay the price?"==>A.
Extremely well acted, especially Ben Hollandsworth as Eric, and very timely. It gets darker and darker. I highly recommend it and it is playing downtown at the SoHo Rep and has remaining performances on 9/14, 9/16, 9/20, and 9/22
Yesterday, after I made the September 11th posting, I spent the remainder of the day reflecting and then in two walk and wander sessions.
In the early evening I met up with My Lady, Dian Crystal, for a bit of a walk and wander and then we had dinner at one of her favorite restaurants, Catch de Fish (yes, that’s the correct name - I didn’t make it up) @ 15th Street and 3rd Avenue in the Union Square area.
It had been a while since I had fish so this was the perfect place. The “early-bird” menu is in effect until 7:30 and you can get 3 appetizers plus a main course for only $15.00. Can’t beat that. The food is really good and I had a great time.
When dinner was over Dian walked with me back to the subway station @ 14th and 8th Avenue. The weather was excellent. It felt really good.
On the way to the station, with My Lady’s permission, I listened to the YANKEE/FUCKSOX game on my ancient Walkman.
OMFG!! What a bummer! The Wankies lost 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th. We had multiple opportunities to put the game away but ended up going a woeful 1 for 12 with runners in scoring position. OMFG!!
Failure to get clutch hitting continues to plague this lineup and will, ultimately, block the Yankees from advancing through the post season to The World Series, IMHO.
We are now tied again with The Orioles and only 2-games ahead of the surging Rays.
Tonight @ 7:05 in that fetid cesspool known as Fenway Park is game 2 of the 3-game series. It will be David Phelps (3-4) for the Wankies vs. Aaron Cook (3-9) for the FuckSox.
Well ... moving on ...
It is a beautiful day in The Big Apple and at noon it is a balmy 72º, perfect weather for an extended walk and wander session, which I will do as soon as I finish this posting.
I probably shouldn’t waste your time with what is next ... but ... I have responsibilities as a fair and unbiased reporter to call things to your attention, no matter how disgusting they are.

7:30==>THE ANDERSON TWINS PLAY THE FABULOUS DORSEYS - “Saxophone/clarinetists Pete and Will Anderson tell the riveting story of the two bandleaders, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, who rise to the top - before sibling rivalry causes the act to split up.” (Off Broadway - $9.00 TDF ticket).
This is playing at the 59 E. 59 Theatre Complex, which is, as you know, one of my favorite venues.
When the show is over I will walk back to the apartment while listening to the YANKEES/FUCKSOX game.
I want to end this posting with a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout out to my oldest grandson ALEX FALLETTA, aka Army Guy, who lives in Elgin, SC, with his wife, Gina, and their darling 8-month old daughter, Saylor.
On this date one year ago Alex, who is an Apache helicopter pilot, was on active duty, shortly to be deployed to Iraq.
Thank you again My Higher Power, whom I choose to call God, for bringing him back safely.
