Tuesday==>BUMMER!!

Good morning my loyal and faithful readers and followers.

Yesterday was a total BUMMER for Billi Pod due to really nasty weather here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World.

The weather got progressively worse and at 4:51pm I got an email from The Yankees informing me that the Yankee/Toronto game had just been postponed due to “inclement weather.” It would be made up as the first game (1:05 p.m.) of a day-night, separate admission doubleheader to be played today. BUMMER!!

Thank God they called it early, rather than make us wait out at the stadium.

It was actually a double BUMMER because I, of course, had a show booked for the Wednesday matinee, plus early dinner plans with friends.

The ticket could either be used for the reset game or for any other available game for the 2012 or 2013 season.

What would I do? Well, to make a long story short, I decided to cancel the theater event and use the ticket for the makeup game today. I sent an email to the ticket service that had issued my complimentary ticket to HEARTLESS by Sam Shepard and another to my theater friends.

All of this was done by 6:30. It was really nasty out but only lightly raining. God, was I restless. I had only walked a little over 2 miles. I checked the show listings at the two area movie houses and nothing really appealed to me. BUMMER!!

Then the thought hit me that this would be a good time to give my “inclement weather walking plan” another test run, this time in inclement weather.

So, I headed out to The Port Authority Bus Terminal with my umbrella and a zip-lock bag for my iPhone and wallet.

I walked around the terminal and then went into the subway station and walked some more. Took the shuttle over to Grand Central and walked some more. I did not leave the subway station. Took the shuttle back to the Port Authority and walked some more.

All-in-all I recorded 2.7 miles.

It was pouring rain by that time and I got totally, and I mean totally, drenched on the walk back to the apartment. Thank God I had the zip-lock bag to protect my iPhone and wallet.

Spent the remainder of the evening watching baseball.

Now ... moving on ...

I am happy to report that it is a beautiful day today.

I will head out to the stadium early and do some walking and wandering in ‘da Bronx. 

So ... my entertainment schedule for today is ...

1:05=>YANKEES/TORONTO @ Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built.

This is the first game of a 3-game series. On the mound for The Bronx Bombers will be Andy Pettitte (3-3) making his first start since fracturing his left ankle June 27th vs. Henderson Alvarez (9-12) for the Jays.

Then ... for this evening ...

8:00==>IF YOU START A FIRE [BE PREPARED TO BURN] - “Chris and Lucy are typical American twenty-somethings struggling to get by during the Great Recession. They hate their jobs, but at least they have each other and health insurance! That is until Chris loses his job...” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This comedy is playing at a theatre in my ‘hood and is directed by my friend Kenny Howard.

At the moment I am unsure whether I will be able to meet up with my theater friends for an early dinner. We will see how things play out.

OK, my loyal and faithful readers, it is time to post this and then get ready to head out to the stadium.

Oh, isn’t Mitt Romney pitiful? He is so out of touch with reality that it makes you wonder if he is off his meds. Jus sayin ...
