It is a gloomy morning in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World.
Apparently the Gods/Goddesses of the Theater World accepted my apology yesterday because last night’s show, LIFE ON THE MISSISSIPPI, was a totally unexpected and incredibly entertaining event and it earns an==>A+
In 1858 young Samuel Clemens, with his younger brother Henry, leaves home in Hannibal, Missouri, to try to become a cub pilot on a Mississippi steamboat. He unexpectedly finds himself learning about life and death and writing. The musical shows how the famous author's identity was forged by his years on the Mississippi.
The 7-person cast is uniformly excellent, especially Andrew Hubacher in the role of Sam and Jeff Paul in the role of his boss/mentor Bixby.
Folks, I can’t remember when I have been so engrossed by both the music and story line. It runs 90 minutes without intermission and the time flies by.
It is playing at the tiny Jewel Box Theatre @ 312 West 38th Street and the remaining shows are:

Friday, 9/21 @ 8:00 pm
Saturday, 9/22 @ 3:00pm & 8:00pm

This is the first game of a 3-game series. On the mound for The Bronx Bombers will be Andy Pettitte (3-3) making his first start since fracturing his left ankle June 27th vs. Ricky Romero (8-14) for the Jays.
Bad news==>Derek Jeter will not play shortstop because of continuing problems with a bone bruise on his left foot. He will be the designated hitter (DH).
We have 16 remaining games so every game is 110% important.
The weather forecast for game time is very iffy at the moment. Assuming the weather is OK, I will go to the game early for a walk and wander session is ‘da Bronx.
