Polly Mounts==>Welcome To The Big Apple!!

Good morning everyone out there in the morass known as cyberspace.

Man, do I have a great day/night lined up ... but details will come later in the posting because I want to start off with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s entertainment event at the 59 E. 59 Theatre complex ...

THE ANDERSON TWINS PLAY THE FABULOUS DORSEYS, the saxophone/clarinetist twins story about the two bandleader brothers==>A.

What an enjoyable evening of vintage jazz performed by an extremely talented 6-person band. The jazz numbers are woven into the story line of the Dorsey brothers, depicted in vintage black & white movie clips.

The very small theater C has been converted into a cabaret space with table seating. It is really tight and, frankly, just a bit uncomfortable but not enough to adversely impact the show itself.

If you like jazz I highly recommend this show. Even if you are just so-so with jazz it is still worth seeing. It runs until October 7th.

I got to the theater area about an hour early and had a nice walk and wander session and then when the show was over I walked back to the apartment while listening to the final innings of the YANKEES/FUCKSOX game in that fetid cesspool known as Fenway Park.

Wow, what a game it was, a nail biter to the very last out. The Yankees won 5-4 to remain in a tie with the Orioles.

Bad news==>Derek Jeter had to leave the game in the 8th inning with ankle problems. His status for tonight’s game in uncertain.

Tonight @ 7:05 will be the final game of the 3-game series and it will be Phil Hughes (14-12) on the mound for The Bronx Bombers vs. Felix Doubront (10-8) for the the last-place FuckSox.

Now the good ... no ... make that ... GREAT news ...

This afternoon I will meet up with my dear friend Polly Mounts of West Palm Beach, FL.

Polly’s late husband, Judge Marvin Mounts, was one of my best friends, both professionally and personally. He left us way-too-soon in 2004. He was a legend in the Palm Beach and Florida legal and judicial communities.

Polly arrives, hopefully, in the early afternoon and we will do some catching up and then head downtown to the World Trade Center area for a walk and wander session

Then we have a Broadway show scheduled for the evening ...

7:00==>NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT - “Set in the 1920s to the backdrop of Classic Gershwin hit songs, it is the story of charming and wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter (Matthew Broderick), who meets rough female bootlegger Billie Bendix (Kelli O’Hara) the weekend of his wedding.” (Broadway - discounted ticket)

When the show is over we will have a late dinner at Joe Allen on 46th Street on Restaurant Row.

Have a safe flight Polly, I can hardly wait to see you.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>5.55 miles (or, 12,146 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>367.21

Mileage remaining until 4/23/13==>711.79

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
