Friday==>Jets-Mania!!

On this frigid Friday in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, to say that the City is overcome with Jets-Mania is to put it mildly. Every media outlet has almost nonstop coverage of even the most mundane of matters and interviews with virtually anyone willing to talk to them.

Yes, it is going to be a very very exciting game and Billi Pod will be watching from the cozy confines of PHC.

Can the Jets win? Yes, they can. Will they? Well, this time Billi Pod is going to go out on the proverbial limb and predict==>Jets win by 3 points in the final seconds of the regular game, or in overtime, so ...

GO JETS!!!

We had more snow overnight (yuck and barf) but not that much accumulation, however, the sidewalks and crosswalks are treacherous. It is supposed to be very very cold over the weekend.

It has been called to my attention, several times, that I failed to give a timely report card on RICHARD SKIPPER AS "CAROL CHANNING" IN CONCERT.

My bad, so here goes==>B+<==very well performed and entertaining, even for someone like moi who isn’t that much into female impersonators. The highlight of the show is the performer’s continuing “Channing-like” banter with the audience. It is worth seeing.

Now, this leads to Billi Pods report card on last night’s HOME OF THE GREAT PECAN==>B<==every rural-Texas cliché known to man, but still funny and worth seeing if you need a yuck-yuck or two.

Billi Pod’s entertainment event for tonight is ...

8:00==>NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC @ Lincoln Center - Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8 and Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1, performed by Radu Lupu. (discounted TDF ticket).

Yankee News==>The Bronx Bombers have bolstered their bench by signing outfielder Andruw Jones, who can play all 3 outfield positions, to a one-year contract. Now if we could just get Andy Pettitte to make up his frigging mind. Stop playing games Andy and say either yes or no!!!!

More on the Yankees==>next Friday at Yankee Stadium they are holding what they are calling a “Select-a-Seat Open House” event where season ticket holders are given the option to move their current seats or upgrade them to a more favorable (meaning more expensive) location. We had to make an appointment and were given a specific time to show up. Mine is 9:30am.

Why am I participating? Well, since the very beginning I have been unhappy that my current seat location is not protected by the overhang, meaning it/I am exposed to rain etc. I want to see what, if anything, is available in my current section.

Of course this comes with concerns. I very much like the people I am sitting with, to the sides, front and back, so do I want to risk getting a seat around some asshole who gets drunk etc etc etc? I honestly don’t know if it is worth the risk.

Will keep you informed.

Got things and stuff I need to do, so will close with the usual and very informative ...
