“Finger-Up-The Butt” Time & POP DIES IN VEGAS==>B

Happy Back To Work Monday for all of my Worker Bee friends out there in the hinterlands, boondocks and wastelands and a Happy Good Afternoon to all of my loyal and faithful readers and followers.

Well, let’s get right to the important things and stuff, like ...

This morning Billi Pod had a "routine" appointment with his Urologist, Dr. Erik Goluboff, who is now associated with Beth Israel Medical Center at Union Square. The appointment included the usual Digital Rectal Examination (DRE). Yepper, it was time again for the old “finger-up-the-butt” exam. The picture pretty much sums it up.

I am happy and, as usual, relieved to report that everything is “fine” up there - the PSA test result was 1.28 and the DRE - “everything OK.”

My next appointment is for November 19th. For guys my age Dr. Goluboff and Beth Israel Department of Urology are now recommending DRE exams every 4 months, rather than semiannually. I’m OK with this.

Now, moving on to other things ... like Billi Pod’s report card on yesterday’s entertainment event ...

POP DIES IN VEGAS, about a one-time pop idol, now only 18 and a ‘has-been,’ who decides to fake his own death in order to stay famous forever==>B.

The story line and acting are totally over-the-top and there is a lot of blood, profanity, screaming, cursing and yelling. All of the characters are stereotypes but mostly in a funny way, just barely missing being offensive.

The show is 2:15, with an intermission, and needs to be majorly trimmed down to a one-act, however, it was still an interesting afternoon’s entertainment and I am glad I saw it.

It was around 5:15 when the show was over. It is playing at a theater at 78th and Broadway. The weather was nice so I decided that I would walk back to the apartment, again selecting the West End Avenue (11th Avenue) route. This time I walked on the west side of the avenue.

Listened to the YANKEES/OAKLAND game and the Wankies ultimately lost 5-4 in 12 innings to get swept by the Athletics. Our ace CC Sabathia was given a 4-0 lead but was unable to shut down the A’s.  Barf!!

Yes, the Wankies lost 4 games to the Athletics, each by 1 run and that sucked big time, it really did.

Tonight @ 10:10pm the Wankies play game 1 of a 3-game series against the Seattle Mariners, who are in last place in the AL West. Hiroki Kuroda (9-7) will be on the mound for the Wankies vs. Kevin Millwood (3-7) for the Mariners.

Nick Swisher is not expected to return to the lineup until we return to Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built, on Friday for a 3-game series against the loathsome Boston FuckSox.

Tonight’s entertainment event is ...

7:00==>CLOSER THAN EVER - “An intimate musical about love, friendship, security, happiness - and holding onto those essentials in a world that pulls us in a hundred directions at once.” (Off Broadway - discounted TDF ticket)

This Richard Maltby/David Shire musical treasure is playing at the York Theatre and has received almost universal positive reviews. It has been extended several times and I am really glad I am finally getting a chance to see it.

Without a doubt Billi Pod will walk back to the apartment when the show is over, weather permitting, of course.

BREAKING NEWS==>I was just able to score two excellent tickets to The Who, performing at Madison Square Garden on December 5th, for one night only.

This legendary band, helmed by founding members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, will tour North America for the first time in four years and will be performing their 1973 rock opera “Quadrophenia” in its entirety, along with an array of hit songs.

This is totally AWESOME and a great way to end this errands and stuff Monday blog ... so ...

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.38  miles.

Mileage for past 7 days==>28.55 miles<==TOTALLY AWESOME!!

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
