BULLET FOR ADOLF==>C

Good morning all of my loyal and faithful readers and followers. It is a beautiful day in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World - 68ยบ @ 10:00am.

Let’s get right to it with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s entertainment event ...

Woody Harrelson’s BULLET FOR ADOLF, about two Texas rubes, an East Coast city slicker and a missing piece of World War II history==>C.

Damn!! I really wanted to like it more. The story line is totally unbelievable, the characters are all stereotyped and unlikeable and the humor is forced with fart jokes, racist jokes, sexist jokes, and every kind of inappropriate behavior joke imaginable. Damn!!

Yes, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, it was 2 hours of shouting, screaming, fighting, boozing and cussing to the nth degree. Damn!!

About the only positive thing, at least for Billi Pod, was the video design that created an impressive collage of the events and music of 1983.

Well, maybe there was one other sorta positive thing ... as I was leaving the theater I walked within 6 feet of Woody Harrelson, but we didn’t make any contact, eye or otherwise.

So ... bottom line ... Billi Pod says==see this at your peril.

When the show was over I came back to PHC and watched the last 7 innings of the YANKEES/OAKLAND game which The Bronx Bombers lost 3-2.

Damn!! Other bad news==>Nick Swisher had to leave the game with a “mild left hip flexor strain.” Just what we need - another injured outfielder.

Game 3 of the 4-game series will be tonight at 9:05pm. It will be Phil Hughes (9-7) on the mound for The Yankees vs. Jarrod Parker (6-4) for The Athletics.

Moving on ...

Today is going to be an entertainment doubleheader for Billi Pod, beginning with ...

2:00==>DOGFIGHT - “A group on young Marines, en route to Vietnam in 1963, are on leave in San Francisco. They compete in a ‘dogfight’ for a cash prize  to see who can bring the ugliest girl to a party.” (Off Broadway - discounted TDF ticket).

This musical just opened and the reviews have been mostly favorable although there are plenty of negative comments about the unpleasantness of the underlying story line.

Then for the evening it will be ...

7:30==>WARRIOR CLASS - “When Assemblyman Julius Lee makes a bid for Congress, the ghosts of his college days come back to haunt him. Nothing reveals true colors like a sprint to the finish, when friends become enemies and allies can turn on a dime. A political battle of race, romance, forgiveness and debt.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This show is in previews and there hasn’t been any advance buzz about it.

It is playing at the McGinn/Cazale Theater @ 76th and Broadway. When the show is over I plan to walk back to the apartment while listening to the YANKEES/OAKLAND game on my trusty but now ancient Walkman.

In closing==>I just can’t begin to fathom the depth of the horror at the shooting massacre in Aurora, CO, the worst shooting rampage in US history. OMFG!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>2.38 miles

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
