It’s Monday But It’s OK ...

It is a beautiful Monday in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World==>50º @ 8:00am and now, at almost 6:00pm, it is 71º.

It has been a great day for my usual errands and stuff day, which has included my 12:30pm AA Meeting at 53rd and 3rd Avenue in the Eastside and then a leisurely stroll back to PHC, a distance of 2 miles.

It really felt great and everyone on the streets seemed to be in a good mood even though it is Monday.

This is a lead up to explaining why this posting is late and why it will be briefer than usual. OK ... OK ... stop the applause and clapping ... Billi Pod knows who you are and where you live/work, so don’t make him come over there and bitch-slap you.

Yeah ... that’s better ... so ... moving on to Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s entertainment event ...

THE SHOW GOES ON: Musicals in Mufti, a portfolio of theatre songs from Tom Jones and longtime collaborator Harvey Schmidt==>A+

84yr old Tom Jones, sang and emceed the evening, giving us the benefit of an insider’s view on the development of shows in the program and their songs.

Jones and the 3 highly talented singers and the pianist/musical director put on an incredible show that had the audience roaring and clapping after each number. Folks, I can’t remember when I had a better time at a show, whether it be Broadway or Off Broadway. This was theater at its best.

Jim Morgan and The York Theatre are to be highly commended for putting this 5 event package together. I can hardly wait for the rest.

When the show was over Jim asked me to join the cast, staff and patrons for a brief after-party, and I did. That was also nice.

Tonight’s entertainment event is ...

8:00==>NEW ENGLAND SYMPHONIC ENSEMBLE, with The Elysium String Quartet @ Carnegie Hall - “Featuring Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and John Rutter’s Magnificat.” (complimentary ticket).

Of course, I have no clue where my comp. ticket will be, but it really doesn’t matter in Carnegie Hall because of the awesome acoustics. Yes, that is the beauty of this historic venue.

BREAKING NEWS==>ESPN is reporting that former Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has decided to play for the Denver Broncos. The parties are hammering out the details of an anticipated five-year $95 million contract.

ESPN is also reporting that the Broncos will trade last-season’s sensation, Tim Tebow, once Manning officially becomes their quarterback.

Well, thanks for all your loyalty John Elway. Billi Pod hopes this deal comes back to bite you on your ass.

I will close this posting with the fifth of the seven “Musings from “THE MIND OF BILLI POD (a memoir in progress)” that were accepted by Philosoraptor, The Pontificating Velociraptor of Our Time ...

And you know it’s true, don’t you ...

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
