Billi Pod’s Report Card On HAIR & Breaking News!!

What a beautiful day in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World.

Billi Pod is happy to begin this posting with his report card on yesterday’s matinee performance of HAIR==>A<==extremely well performed and entertaining.

The cast is very talented and energetic in this 1960s anti-war themed musical that was extremely contoversial when it originally opened. I remember seeing the original show and the people seated on either side of me and my then wife Donna, were aghast at the nudity and profanity. I wanted to tell them that we were there for the nudity and profanity, but I didn’t. Also saw and liked the first version of this revival in 2009.

I have to admit that, for deeply personal reasons, I became very emotional during the last scene, which ends with a dead soldier lying on an American flag.

Billi Pod highly recommends this show, which only runs through September 10th.

Also, it was nice having some all-too-brief face time with my FaceBook friends Dian Crystal and Julie Miller.

The game last night was excellent and the weather was great, for a change. Unfortunately, none of my buddies were in their usual seats.

As most of you loyal and faithful readers know==>Ivan Nova restored order to Yankee Stadium, the house that Greed and Ego Built, as the Yankees won 9-3 over the Los Angeles Angels, who are presently our main competitor for the American League Wild Card. Granderson hit two homers, to make up for his dumb base running goof Tuesday night.

With the win Nova goes to 11-4 and MUST be kept in the rotation. Do you hear this JoeG? He’s gotta stay in the rotation.

This afternoon Billi Pod will stay in PHC to watch game 3 of the Angels series with Bartolo Colon on the mound for the Yankees, and then tonight is ...

7:00==>MY MOTHER’S ITALIAN, MY FATHER’S JEWISH, AND I’M STILL IN THERAPY - “This is Steve Solomon’s sequel to his original award winning hit. The show takes us back to Steve's wacky childhood growing up with his twin sister "The Smoker." The audience follows along in this wonderfully funny journey about growing up, mixed marriages, X-wives, dogs, cats, dieting and dozens of other side-splitting situations that we all can relate to.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

I loved the original show ... same title but without “still” ... and am looking forward to this version. The buzz is very good.

BREAKING NEWS==>CATCH ME IF YOU CAN will close on September 4th, and that is too bad because Billi Pod thought it was a very likable and enjoyable show. Man, Broadway can be cruel.

Will post this and then do some walking-and-wandering. God, I love living here.

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
