PRAYERS GO OUT FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE BOSTON TRAGEDY

Tuesday==>My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, and their families, of the tragedy at the Boston Marathon.

This is yet another painful example of the presence of unspeakable evil in the World and how fragile life is and why we must savor every moment of it because one never knows ...

But, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, just as with 9/11 and its aftermath ... we must not, repeat, must not allow those terrorist scum bags to take control of our daily lives. If we do, then they have won ... so ... let's move on today with ...

Billi Pod’s report card on yesterday’s entertainment event and other stuff, too ...

As I had posted yesterday, my original plans were to attend a staged reading with my theater-buddy Dian Crystal aka My Lady. Dian decided that she needed a day off and that was fine with me. I totally understood.

So, I next planned to see the Jackie Robinson movie, 42, with one of my AA buddies but ... he had some work-related issues and had to cancel.

Then ... I went online and at the last minute booked an Off Broadway show ...

8:00==>RISE - “This ‘opera-infused’ play juxtaposes the story of the debauched Roman Boy-King Elagabalus with that of a modern-day porn star and the ‘friends’ who want to feed off of him.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

Report card==>B+

This was an interesting concept and it was very well performed, especially Margaret Meyer and Jessica Wagner as the Emperor’s mother and grandmother and Crawford Collins as the porn star’s manager.

The show switches back-and-forth between ancient Rome and today’s LA scene.

My only quibble is that its running time is a bit long @ 2:30+, with an intermission. I was originally told that the running time was 2:00, with an intermission.

The show is running through April 20th at Theatre 54 @ Shetler Studios on West 54th Street.

Billi Pod says==>if you want something a bit different, then see it.

Tonight’s entertainment event is a trip up to The Bronx for an inner-league game...

7:05==>YANKEES/ARIZONA @ Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built (game #2 of my 12-game season ticket package)

On the mound for the Bronx Bombers will be Ivan Nova (0-1) vs. Brandon McCarthy (0-1) for the Diamondbacks.

I am confident there will heightened security at the stadium gates so I  probably won’t take the usual backpack.

Well, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, I still have a few things to do on my errands list, including my weekly “restocking” visit to the grocery store in my ‘hood. As a side note ... I usually do this on Tuesday because on Tuesdays Food Emporium gives a 5% discount to senior citizens, in addition to any other discounts/sales.

BTW==>I really like Boston as a City. In fact, it is my second favorite (tied with 'Frisco) US City, after The Big Apple, of course. It is the FuckSox and their fans that I hate, not the City.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.09 miles (or, 8,951 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>1,355.17 miles

GO YANKEES!!
