Wild pitches, passed balls, errors, failure to hit with runners in scoring position, bull pen implosion, yada yada yada==>all added up to The Yankees getting swept last night by the Boston F**kSox, in Yankee Stadium, the House That Greed & Ego Built.
In the last 12 games the Yankees are 3 - 9, losing 5 in a row and this sucks big time
Make no mistake about it, the Yankees are in a crisis in batting order positions one to nine.
But, it goes deeper than that. The Yankees are nothing special now and haven’t been for some time. I have made this observation several times in the past. In my humble opinion the Boston series is damning evidence that Yankee Pride has left the building, along with Mystique and Aura.
No, I am not being overly dramatic nor do I expect them to win every game. I have spent big bucks on them as a partial season ticket holder and I expect something back from them. I expect them to maintain Yogi’s mantra ... “it ain’t over till its over.” These guys are sleepwalking and that is giving them the benefit of the doubt.
I could rant on and on but it would serve no useful purpose. Unfortunately, I don’t feel any better after having written down these feelings and concerns.
So, come on guys ... man up.
On to other things ...
There was a bright note yesterday and it was CAROUSEL==>A<==totally enjoyable performance by a large and very talented cast.
The young man who played Billy Bigelow was excellent. Although I have seen this musical many many times it still is a jolt to be reminded of what a lout Billy is - a spouse-abusing n’er-do-well.
There are two remaining performances on Friday and Saturday - see it if you can.
Tonight’s entertainment event is ...
These are usually very enjoyable. I love the music (but not the book) from “Joseph.”
BREAKING NEWS==>SPIDERMAN: Turn Off The Dark has “reopened” after being down for about 3 weeks to make major changes in the material and staging. Again, the buzz about the new version, sans Julie Taymor, is very very mixed.
In the name of fair and unbiased reporting Billi Pod must reveal to you loyal and faithful readers that he has a ticket to see Wednesday night’s performance. As you recall, he saw the 13th preview performance of the original material and hated every aspect of it.
Why then, you are no doubt asking, is he subjecting himself to this train-wreck again? Well, he is doing it so he can give you loyal readers the benefit of his first hand knowledge of this highly controversial entertainment event. Yes, Billi Pod is doing it for you out there in the vast hinterlands.
You are welcum!!
It is a nasty and rainy errands day here in The Big Apple. When it clears up a bit Billi Pod will begin his chores and stuff.
GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
