OK, Billi Pod Made A Mistake ...

OK my loyal and faithful readers out there in the vast hinterlands ... YES ... Billi Pod made a major mistake in yesterday’s posting to this blog and on his FaceBook Wall ... and ...

Thanks so much for all of the ... ahem ... snarky ... ahem ... emails, texts and messages calling his attention to the fact that ... tada ... last night the Yankees were playing the Kansas City Royals, rather than the Toronto Blue Jays.

Unfortunately your kindly reminders did not arrive until Billi Pod had left for the game, meaning ... he didn’t discover his error/transgression until he was in his seat and listening to the starting lineup ... WTF ... he thought ... then he realized he had made a mistake ... so there ... remember ... Billi Pod is only human ... or, maybe, partially human ... or ... whatever ... forget about it ... moving on ...

The Yankees won the game 3-1 behind another excellent outing by Freddie Garcia and the bullpen. A-Rod came through with a clutch hit to drive in the winning run.

During the game I had a nice running conversation with a late 30s guy seated to my right. He was from Milwaukee and was in town for a business meeting. This was his first Yankee game. He is an ardent baseball fan. He holds a partial season ticket package for the Brewers in about the same section of their stadium. For his seat there he pays $30.00 per game but the price in the same area in Yankee stadium is $70-80. Yeah, I know.

He kept remarking on the number of empty seats, even though the official attendance last night was announced as 41,275 (50,291). As I have mentioned before, this is a continuing problem that Yankee management has been unable to solve. They just can’t figure out how to fill those empty seats without pissing off the ticket holders who paid the original outrageous prices.

And, even though it is very very early in the season, in my seating area, composed of full and partial-plan season ticket holders, there is already a lot of talk about not renewing for next year, regardless of how the season turns out.

Anyway, on to other things ... like Billi Pod’s entertainment event for tonight ...

8:00==>MY GIRLFRIEND’S BOYFRIEND - “written and performed by comedian Mike Birbiglia, about his ‘relationship’ with a woman who always dates 2 guys at the same time.” (Off Broadway - discounted ticket).

He is a very funny guy and I am really looking forward to this show, which has received excellent reviews and has been extended twice.

BREAKING NEWS==>I am happy to report that my dear dear friend Sandy Mullon of Anna Maria, FL, will join me in PHC at the end of the month. She will arrive on Monday, May 23rd and leave on Friday, May 27th.

We already have a lot of stuff planned. Sandy is responsible for our daytime activities and I am responsible for the evening. We have tickets for HOW TO SUCCEED AT BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING and BILLY ELLIOTT. I couldn't get tickets for THE BOOK OF MORMON. I will, of course, complete our schedule as the time grows nearer.

In closing, Billi Pod is happy to report that he feels much much better today, thanks to his tried and true (at least for him) regimen of mega-doses of Vitamin C and Echinacea & Goldseal.

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
