Good morning from The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World.
Billi Pod’s report card on last nite’s BROADWAY BY THE YEAR==>A<==a really enjoyable evening with a very talented cast of singers and dancers.
It started off with a bang with Liz Callaway singing “Memory” from “Cats.” The rest of the evening was equally as thrilling, especially the three numbers featuring The Mark Stuart Dance Theatre company.
The house was sold-out. My seat was in the rear balcony, but no matter, it did not detract from a terrific evening of entertainment.
This wonderful entertainment event helped Billi Pod handle The Wankies game against The Rays. The Wankies had a 5-1 lead going into the bottom of the 6th inning when AJ Burnett aka Loser Boi suddenly imploded yet again and The Wankies lost their 6th straight game, by a score of 5-6. Barf!!
Folks, this isn’t just a “glitch” and/or a “bump-in-the-road.” The Yankees are in serious trouble. GeorgeS has gotta be rolling in his grave. If he were still alive and in-charge==>heads would have rolled, trust Billi Pod on that.
Oh well ... on to other things, like ...
Today is a doubleheader for Billi Pod, something a bit different for a Tuesday ...
3:00==>FLIGHT - “A man searches for truth and love against the backdrop of his mother’s deterioration and haunted past. (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)
This is an invitation-only staged reading at a theater on my block.
And then tonight is ...
7:00==>THE SPHINX WINX - “A musical-comedy misinterpretation of ancient Egyptian history starring Cleopatra, Julius Caesar and Marc Antony.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)
This show is also at a theater on my block.
In response to several inquiries ... yes ... PHC has an awesome location vis-à-vis Off Broadway theater. There are 9 Off Broadway theater venues within 1/4 of a block of the front door of my apartment building. Nice, especially during inclement weather.
