Good afternoon, my loyal and faithful readers, from the sunny but still cool Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World. It is 59º right now and may get into the mid-60s later in the day.
It was miserable weather-wise at the Stadium last night - misty rain and cold. AJ Burnett aka Loser Boi was on the mound and he was pitching a very good game and the Yankees had a 7 run lead going into the 7th inning.
In the name of fair and unbiased reporting I have to acknowledge that Billi Pod seriously thought about leaving because: it was very cold and damp; his usual seat mates were not at the game; and, the Yankees were leading 7-0. Well, Loser Boi suddenly imploded, giving up 2 HRs and the Orioles came roaring back with 4 runs. OMFG!!
No way could I leave under those circumstances, so I found an empty seat under an overhang and stayed until Mo got the final out in the top of the 9th. The Yankees won 7-4, and Loser Boi won his 3rd game of the season.
As an interesting side note==>during the game it was announced that anyone with a ticket to the game, whether used or unused, could receive a free ticket to any future game, with the exception of the F**kSox and Mets games. I am sure they will be in the bleachers and/or upper tier, but so what ... it will be F R E E!!
This was my 5th game of the young season and the Yankee record for those games is 3 wins and 2 losses. Have tickets for the Friday and Sunday games against Texas.
Tonight’s entertainment event is ...
7:30==>NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA @ Avery Fisher Hall - Kurt Masur conducts: Listz - Les Preludes; Gubaiduluna (who??) - Two Paths; and Brahmns - Symphony No. 1 (season subscription series).
Billi Pod is definitely in the mood for a nice classical music concert and this will fill the bill (no pun intended).
The various theater chat boards up here are full of threads trying to explain/justify/debunk the generally very favorable reviews given to THE MOTHERF**KER WITH THE HAT. Oh, the drama!!
Oh, this morning I finally took the step(s), as required, and transferred all of my prescription meds, heart and eye, from my loyal pharmacy to the CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy, a process I know many of you out there in the hinterlands have done, or will have to do in the future. Barf!!
I did it via telephone and I rank the whole experience as akin to attempting to blind yourself with a dull pencil. Jus sayin ...
GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
