Billi Pod’s Wednesday Doubleheader Was ...

Good afternoon my loyal and faithful readers. In the name of fair and unbiased reporting Billi Pod has to inform you that yesterday’s doubleheader was a mixed bag, at best.

MY SCANDALOUS LIFE was acceptable even though the show was stopped 3 times due to stage-light failures. It is basically a one-person show and the actor handled the interruptions well. Each time he went off stage in character and came back when power was restored.

As for as the story line was concerned, it is basically what assholes the English upper-class were and what an unpleasant, lying creep Lord Alfred Douglas was.

Between shows I just wandered around Chelsea and the West Village and that was kinda dumb because it was really unpleasantly cold.

THINNER THAN WATER was a major disappointment. I hated the story line and every one of the mega-loser characters. A good part of the action takes place in a hospital waiting room as three estranged adult siblings are waiting for their loser (and unseen) father to die.

They screamed, hollered and cussed at one another, virtually nonstop. Billi Pod should have left at intermission. You are warned!!

Billi Pod’s entertainment, and hopefully better, schedule for tonight is:

8:00==>THE BODY POLITIC - “Mr. Right falls for Ms. Left in this heartfelt and humorous look at love on the campaign trail where two opposing political operators find themselves falling in love behind party lines. Can this high-voltage political odd couple navigate a bipartisan romance?” (Off-Broadway - discounted TDF ticket)

This is playing at the 59th Street Theatre, one of my favorite venues. I hope it is funny because Billi Pod needs a good laugh.

Oh, forgot to report that it is still very very cold in The Big Apple.

Will close with ...

Musings from THE MIND OF BILLI POD (a memoir in progress):

“Being last in line means you are more of a loser than you will admit.”

GO GATORS AND GO YANKEES!!

“Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.”
