BREAKING NEWS==>the opening date for SPIDER-MAN has been delayed yet again. It was rescheduled to officially “open” on January 11th, but that was just postponed. The new date is now February 7, 2011.
The “buzz” is that the so-called creative team is going to do a major reworking of the miserable Act II and that Bono and The Edge will be personally involved and physically present after Christmas. Billi Pod recommends that first they squash that bitch Spider-Women.
Meanwhile they continue to charge full-price for all of these preview performances, meaning==>it will have run for 11+ weeks at top prices before the critics get to review it. Why the f**k do we theatergoers put up with this kinda crap? Why?
The countdown to Christmas continues here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City in The World.
Happy to report that my right eye feels much better. Had a followup appointment with my eye doc at noon today and she seemed to be satisfied. She gave me some more drops and stuff and we have another followup appointment after Christmas.
Billi Pod’s report card on A SMALL FIRE==>B<==75 minutes of pretty heavy drama, building to a “climatic” conclusion (you have to see it to understand what this really means).
Opinions varied among my friends, ranging from D- to A. I, however, recommend it, largely because of the outstanding acting.
Billi Pod’s entertainment event for tonight --
7:00==>JIM GAFFIGAN @ Nokia Theatre in Times Square. This is something a bit different.
I really like his brand of humor and try to catch his performances on Comedy Central whenever I can, so I am very excited about seeing him in person. My seat is super-excellent.
As a side-note==>he is going to appear in the Broadway revival of THAT CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON in February 2011, joining an amazing cast including: Kiefer Sutherland, Chris Noth and Brian Cox.
