UNCENSORED==>A

Thursday==>Let’s start this Thursday afternoon posting with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s outstanding entertainment event ...

UNCENSORED, featuring original and thought-provoking works by New York City teenagers from the George Washington Youth Company==>A

Very thought-provoking, funny, profane, well-performed and totally entertaining.

The program consisted of 44 pieces, written and performed by the 15 playwrights, in only one hour. Wow!!

The George Washington Youth Company is based on the campus of George Washington High School in Washington Heights and the ensemble is comprised of students from 4 area schools.

I was totally engrossed in the performances and the energy and enthusiasm flowing from the stage engulfed the audience of mostly family and friends.

Yes, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, this was a very enjoyable theater experience for your favorite blogger and he is soooooooo glad he was able to see this show.

Kudos go out to MCC Theater’s Department of Education & Outreach for sponsoring this outstanding program that brings theater to more than 1,100 NYC high school students each year.

I left the theater with a big smile on my face and then spent the next 90 minutes in a nice walk and wander session in my Hell’s Kitchen ‘hood.

Thank goodness I had a show scheduled for 7:00pm because it kept me from listening to the total implosion of Phil Hughes as my Yankees got the crap beat out of them last night by the Mariners, losing 12-2, at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built.

Hughes gave up 7 runs in the first inning, including a grand slam by former Yankee Raul Ibanez. BARF!!

Hopefully things will be better tonight in the final game of the 3-game series. It will be Andy Pettitte (4-2) on the mound for the Bombers vs. Aaron Harang (1-4) for the Mariners.

Moving on ...

Tonight’s entertainment event is an Off Broadway show ...

8:00==>BASILICA - “In South Texas, two things loom large-the Catholic Church and Texas pride. Joe Garza, a strong, hardworking man, embodies one more than the other. But when he learns that Gilbert Gonzalez has returned as the new pastor at the basilica, Joe is confronted with the choices he made in life and questions the past the only way he knows how: with anger, pride, and a biting tongue.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This is a production by the Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre Company and is playing at The Cherry Lane Theatre in the West Village.

It is a beautiful day in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, with the projected high in the low 80s. Oh yes ... definitely walk and wander time ... so ...

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.34 miles (or, 9,484 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>1,487.94 miles

GO YANKEES!!
