TGIF - Sports - Jeter Gatorade Ad

Friday==>Yeah ... it is finally Friday for all of my Worker Bee friends who are trapped in their cubicles, wait-stations, broom closets etc. as the work-clock slowly ticks down to 5:05pm when their weekend can officially begin.

As your favorite blogger has done numerous times before ... this is a reminder that you cannot sneak out early because your every movement (even in the communal bathrooms) is under constant surveillance from those state-of-the-art security devices recently surreptitiously installed by management.

You are soooooooo welcome.

Now ... moving on ...

As you loyal and faithful readers and followers know from yesterday’s posting, Billi Pod’s entertainment event was up in The Bronx at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built.

The Yankees (78-74) began their 8-game homestand by beating The Toronto Blue Jays (77-75) 3-2 on a run-scoring error in the bottom of the 9th inning.

Derek Jeter’s bat came alive as he had a single and a homer.

These are the headlines in the local papers ...

“BACK WITH A BANG. Jeter homers in opener of final homestand, helps Yanks clip Jays.” - backpage of The NY Post

PARTING GIFTS! Jeter opens final homestand with HR as Yanks win on error.” - backpage of The Daily News

“Against Jays, Jeter and Yanks Show Signs of Life.” - inside sports section of The NY Times

With the win our wild card hopes remain barely alive.

The paid attendance was announced to be 34,279 (69.7% of capacity), but trust me on this ... there were way way fewer actual bodies at the stadium. It really felt strange.

Moving on ...

The second game of the 4-game series is at 7:05pm tonight. On the mound for The Yankees will be Hiroki Kuroda (10-9) vs. Mark Buehrle (12-9) for The Jays.

Billi Pod will be at this game with a discounted ticket obtained through one of his ticket services. He is confident it will be in the upper nosebleed section in left field.

I plan to head out to the stadium around 4:30pm so I can have a nice walk and wander session in The Bronx. The weather is good, so it should be very pleasant.

Folks ... the link below is the recently released Gatorade ad with Jeter ... watch it ... it is totally AWESOME!!

So ... this pretty much is it for today’s posting. Sorry to my theater-buddies but sometimes sports win over the theater. Not often ... but sometimes ...

Will close with the following, which is making its rounds on the internet. It is sooooooooooo true.
