GO GATORS==>Beat ‘Bama!!

Saturday==>We will get today’s posting started with the advance admission that your favorite blogger here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, is going to spend all of today and most of the evening in front of his new (to him) 42” flat screen TV watching college football.

The most important game is, of course, at 3:30pm on CBS when Coach Muskrat and the unranked Florida Gators take on Nick Saban and the #3 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa.

The current line is The Tide by 14.5 points but Billi Pod’s gut feeling is that this is going to be a major ass-whipping on national TV, leading, hopefully, to Coach Muskrat’s ultimate journey out of the door and back to where he belongs, coaching East Idaho Junior College.

I have been trying to secure a reasonable number of points from my son, Bill III aka The Bill, who has been a ‘Bama fan forever ... but ... so far the best he will offer his frail and aged father is 16 points. Oh well ...

After this is posted I will do a walk and wander session in my immediate Hell’s Kitchen ‘hood before settling into my couch-potato modality.

Moving on ...

Last night out at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built, The Yankees (79-74) beat Toronto (77-76) 5-3 on an excellent outing from Hiroki Kuroda and the longball from Jacoby Ellsbury. Jeter went 2 for 4.

Dammit ... Ellsbury had to leave the game in the 5th inning because of a strained right hamstring, which will probably mean his season is over.

As I posted yesterday, my ticket for the game was obtained through one of my ticket services and it was, as anticipated, in the upper nosebleed section in far left field.

Luckily, in the first inning I was able to sneak into an open seat in the same section where my partial season ticket package seat is located and that was excellent.

With the win our playoff hopes remain alive, if just barely.

This afternoon at 4:05pm is game 3 of the 4-game series. On the mound for The Yankees will be Chris Capuano (2-3) vs. Marcus Stroman (10-6) for The Jays.

OK, it is now time to post this and then get outside for my walk and wander session ... so ...

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.02 miles (or, 6,617 steps)

Total mileage for 2014==>1,073.39 miles (average 4.10 miles per day)

GO GATORS!! GO YANKEES!!
