The Pajama Men/Ian McKellen & Patrick Stewart/Upcoming AWESOME Schedule

Wednesday==>I know that many of you loyal and faithful readers and followers out there in the morass known as cyberspace have grown tired of the daily weather reports from The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World.

Well ... sorry ... but the weather right now plays an integral part in Billi Pod’s world ... so ... just take a nice deep breath ... live with it ...  and let’s get started with ...

It is yet another very cold day in Gotham City. At 8:30am it was only 15º, wind chill , with the usual deceptively beautiful azure blue skies. The bad news==>heavy snow is forecast, beginning at midnight and into tomorrow, with estimated accumulation of at least 5 inches.

Oh, well ... moving on ...

Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s Off Broadway show ...

THE PAJAMA MEN: Just the Two of Each of Us, Shenoah Allen and Mark Chavez bring surreal theatrics, physical bits and improvisation to narrative storytelling==>A-

Folks, I totally enjoyed this show. It is in-your-face funny, with a complex story line and two extremely talented performers playing multiple roles.

It is a lot more improvisational than I expected but that adds to the enjoyment of the performances by Allen and Chavez. Think a somewhat profaner version of “T.J. & Dave.”

The house was almost full with a very diverse audience and everyone around me seemed to be really having fun.

Billi Pod says==>If you need a good belly-laugh, then this is the show for you.

The show in playing at Subculture, downstairs at 45 Bleecker Street, in the East Village, has a running time of 1:10, without intermission, and runs through February 23.

Now ... tonight’s entertainment event couldn’t be more different ... the Broadway show ...

8:00==>NO MAN’S LAND - “Two elderly writers, having met in a London pub, continue drinking and talking into the night. All might be well, until the return home of two younger men. Their relationships are exposed, with menace and hilarity.” (Broadway - discounted TDF ticket)

This revival of Harold Pinter’s most entertaining play stars Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, with Billy Crudup and Shuler Hensley. It has received uniformly good reviews and is playing in repertory with Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot,” with the same cast.

For whatever reason I have delayed seeing this. I saw Godot back on November 6th and gave it an A.

It is playing at the Cort Theatre (not one of my favorite venues) on West 48th Street, has a running time of 2:00, with intermission, and runs through March 29th.

Moving on ...

Despite the projected nasty weather your favorite blogger has now virtually completed his AWESOME entertainment schedule for the upcoming 6-days. I have an array of very diverse events (which is why I love living in The Big Apple) ...

Wednesday - 8:00==>NO MAN’S LAND (Broadway)
