Billi Pod’s Super Bowl Prediction & Report Cards

Sunday==>Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday here in The Big Apple. The weather is pretty awesome at the moment. At 10:30am it is sunny with azure blue skies, wispy clouds and a temperature of 47º. AWESOME!

Yeah, your favorite blogger is definitely in a countdown mode. It should be an excellent game and I will now make my prediction of the final score ... tada ...

Broncos 31 - Seahawks 24

So, there you have it.

You know, one thing I have read nothing about is the estimated time it will take everyone to get back into Manhattan once the game is over. Yeah ... no one has mentioned the time that it is going to take to get through passport control and customs, to say nothing about the potential for being quarantined.

You see, the “Administration” would have preferred everyone to remain in Manhattan, notably on Super Bowl Boulevard that stretches from Times Square down to 34th Street, rather than actually going over to that foreign country known as New Jersey for the game.

It is Billi Pod’s prediction that it is going to be mightily unpleasant after the game. Just remember where you read it first.

Anyhoo==>GO BRONCOS!!

Moving on to Billi Pod’s report cards on yesterday’s musical-comedy doubleheader ... first ...

GREED: A Musical For Our Times - “This new musical satirizes the rich, famous and infamous==>B+

Funny, well-performed and thought-provoking. It is very much like "Forbidden Broadway" takes on "The Wolf of Wall Street."

The small theater was full, with extra chairs in the aisles. The audience was really into the show.

Billi Pod says==>definitely worth seeing.

It is playing at The Playroom Theatre on West 46th Street, has a running time of 1:20, without intermission, and runs through February 5th.

I have to admit that I had some serious misgivings about the second show because I had not read “50 Shades of Grey” but ... no matter ... because ...

CUFF ME! A Fifty Shades of Grey Musical Parody, the cast of four parodies the book with popular hit songs from Britney Spears, Madonna, and others==>A-

OMFG!! It was soooooooo funny and sooooooo well-performed by the cast of 4 extremely talented actors. Yes, it is jaw-dropping, gasp-inducing funny. OMFG!!

I mean, really, who thought S&M could be funny, right?

The virtually full house was 80% youngish females and they were really into the show.

Billi Pods says==>if you are open-minded and need a good belly-laugh then this is the show for you ... if not ... then stay far far far away.”

It is playing at The Actors Temple Theatre on West 47th, has a running time of 1:25, without intermission, and is running through March 27th.

Moving on ...

This afternoon’s entertainment event is something much more serious, the Broadway show ...

3:00==>THE GLASS MENAGERIE - “This revival of Tennessee Williams’ poetic masterpiece is anchored by the aging southern belle Amanda Wingfield, who hopes for her son Tom to fulfill her dreams of finding the perfect “gentleman caller” for her shy and damaged daughter Laura. However, the arrival of the gentleman caller sends shock waves through the family and causes cracks to form in the delicate fantasies that have kept them going.” (Broadway - discounted TDF ticket)

This stellar cast is headed by two-time Tony Award winner Cherry Jones. I totally love her.

It is playing at the Booth Theatre on West 45th Street, has a running time of 2:30, with intermission, and runs through February 23rd.

I have really been wanting to see this show since it opened back on September 26, 2013 to almost uniformly good reviews. It finally showed up with a discount on TDF so I scooped it up.

I will have plenty of time to get back to the warm and cozy confines of PHC for the 6:30pm kickoff.

At half time will grill an Allan Brothers steak on my George Foreman grill to go with a baked potato, grilled onions and Texas Toast. This will be washed down with my libation of choice==>Fresca.

HAVE A GREAT SUPER BOWL SUNDAY EVERYONE!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.10 miles (or, 8,969 steps)

Total mileage for 2014==>88.90 miles (average 2.78 miles per day)

GO BRONCOS!!
