Saturday==>C & C

Sunday==>Well, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, in the name of fair and unbiased reporting your favorite blogger here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, has to admit that yesterday’s entertainment doubleheader was less than stellar. Neither one of the scheduled shows lived up to my expectations ...

Why not? Well, here comes Billi Pod’s report cards ... first ...

PARABLES FOR THE ONE PERCENT, the interior monologues of the richest people alive today==>C

The 6-person cast does their best with material that gets old very fast ... “the rich are assholes” yeah, we get it. Redundantly unfunny and disappointing.

Luckily the show is playing at a theater on my block so I didn’t have to brave the nasty rain to see it.

When it was time for my second show it was still lightly raining. I headed out for The Hudson Guild Theatre on West 26th Street in the Chelsea area. About halfway there the rain stopped and that was nice.

I wish I could say the same about the show ...

I COULD SAY MORE, a weekend at the beach takes a turn for the worse as old rivalries surface==>C

This overly long so-called “comedic-drama” is ridden with gay stereotypes and basically unlikeable characters who are drunk and/or stoned most of the time. The story line is predictable and totally un-involing.

With a running time of 2:30, with intermission, it is easily 30-minutes too long. The house was full. Yes, I considered leaving at intermission but I didn’t in hopes that Act II would be better. It wasn’t.

I could say more, but ... it ain't worth the time and effort.

The show runs through February lst.

When it was over, around 10:30pm, the rain was gone so I was able to walk back to the warm and cozy confines of PHC without any problems.

Moving on ...

As you sports fans know, yesterday the Arbitrator dropped the hammer on Yankee 3rd baseman Alex Rodriguez, suspending him for the entire 2014 season.

As might be expected this caused a media storm here in The Big Apple. Here are the headlines in today’s papers:

SIT & SPIN - Slugger loses $25 million for drug use. Whines ‘deck is stacked against me.’
(front page of the Daily News)

THE END IS NEAR! May have seen last of A-Rod after year-long suspension.
(back page of the Daily News)

A-DIOS! Yankees, fans cheer as Alex banished for season.
(front page of the New York Post)

THE VERDICT - THE BANBINO. A-Rod exiled for 2014 season. Big victories for Yanks, Selig.
(back page of the New York Post)

Rodriguez Out For All of 2014, Arbitrator Says. Record Doping Penalty for Top-Paid Yankee.
(front page of the New York Times)

A-Rod and his "team" have defiantly stated that they will take the Arbitrator’s decision to federal court. Come on guys, you know that the chances of a Judge overturning this decision are virtually nil. Take our hands out of his pockets and just tell him to SHUT THE FUCK UP!!

There is supposed to be an explosive interview with Anthony Bosch, the head of Biogenesis, tonight on "60-Minutes," in which he states that he personally injected A-Rod with performance enhancing substances. Gotta see this ...

Moving on some more ...

I had booked a show for this afternoon through TDF, but when it was time to get ready to head down to The East Village, your favorite blogger was overwhelmed with the urge to stay in to watch play-off football ... and ... that is just what I am gonna do ...

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.30 miles (or, 7,216 steps)

Total mileage for 2014==>23.49 miles (average 2.14 miles per day)
