HAPPY BIRTHDAY #2 TO SAYLOR FALLETTA

Tuesday==>HAPPY BIRTHDAY #2 to my darling great-granddaughter Saylor Falletta. Saylor and her parents Gina and Alex aka Army Guy Falletta live in Elgin, SC, which is just outside of Columbia, SC.

Saylor will be joined by a little sister around the end of April and everyone is really excited about that.

This means the female to male ratio in the Falletta household will be 3:1, meaning Army Guy ain’t got a chance. Hell, he didn’t have much of a chance when it was 1:1. Jus sayin’ ...

Moving on ...

It is freezing cold @ 8:30am this morning in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World==>, wind chill -17º, winds steady at 20 mph. The projected high is only 14º.

Of course, your favorite blogger picked the coldest day of the year to end his entertainment drought ... yeah ... I know ... pretty dumb.

What will I be seeing? Well, assuming I don’t freeze to death going to the theater, this is the entertainment event ...

7:30==>DISASTER! A 1970s Disaster Movie Musical - “A blissfully silly jukebox musical that is a campy spoof of 1970s disaster flicks. It features earthquakes, tidal waves, infernos, killer bees, rats, sharks, piranhas and other scary things.” (Off Broadway - discounted TDF ticket)

This show is co-written by Seth Rudetsky, has been well reviewed, is playing at St. Luke’s Theatre of West 46th Street, has a running time of 2:10, with intermission, and runs through March 31st.

Yeah, assuming I don’t freeze to death going to and from the show, this is just what I need to get back into my NYC entertainment frame-of-mind.

As you loyal and faithful readers and followers know, last night Billi Pod stayed in the warm and cozy confines of PHC to watch the BCS Championship Game between the #1 ranked Florida State Seminoles, lead by Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston, vs. the #2 ranked Auburn Tigers.

What an exciting game. It looked like the Tigers were on their way to a major upset as they were leading 21-3 at half-time.

I don’t know what Jimbo Fisher said to his players in the locker room, but whatever it was, they came out for the second half a totally rejuvenated team and the game turned around for the ‘Noles.

As you know, the ‘Noles scored the go-ahead TD with just 13 seconds remaining on the clock and ultimately won by a score of 34-31.

It was certainly a fitting way to end the BCS era.

So==>major CONGRATS to all of my Seminole friends.

I will close this posting with something that my dear friend and High School classmate Jennie Humphrey recently sent to me ...  28 PIECES OF ADVICE FROM AN OLD FARMER. The first 10 are:

1. Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.

2. Keep skunks and bankers at a distance.

3. Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

4. A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.

5. Words that soak into your ears are whispered… not yelled.

6. Meanness don’t just happen overnight.

7. Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads.

8. Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.

9. It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.

10. You cannot unsay a cruel word.

The rest will be in subsequent postings.

STAY WARM EVERYONE!!
