HANDBOOK FOR AN AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY==>A-

Tuesday==>And a very pleasant good afternoon to all of my loyal and faithful readers and followers out there in the morass known as cyberspace.

It is a cloudy day here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In the World, with rain in the forecast for later in the afternoon and into the evening hours. The temperature is a manageable 82ยบ at 12:30pm, with a nice breeze coming off the Hudson River.

So ... let’s get this timely posting started with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s one-man show down in The West Village ...

HANDBOOK FOR AN AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY, a panorama of ordinary citizens in extraordinary circumstances, whose battles are reshaping 21st-century America==>A-

Writer/performer Matthew-Lee Erlbach creates 13 believable and culturally diverse characters in a very thought-provoking and emotional performance. The one-hour running time raced by.

The house was full and seemed to be very much into the performance.

The show runs through August 3rd at the Gym at Judson in The West Village.

Billi Pod says==>It is definitely worth seeing.

What wasn’t worth seeing was the 7:05pm YANKEES/RANGERS game in Texas as the Wankies sleepwalked through a shutout 3-0 loss. In their defense ... they didn’t get to Arlington, TX, until 6:00am, local time, following the Sunday night game in Boston that went into extra-innings.

Ivan Nova pitched an OK game but, as usual, the Wankie bats were dead-on-arrival.

Tonight is game 2 of the 4-game series and it will be Phil Hughes (4-9) on the mound for the Wankies vs. Alexi Ogando (4-2) for The Rangers.

The doomsday clock is counting down for A-Rod. Unless he can work out a deal like Ryan Braun (suspended for the remainder of the season, without pay) I predict MLB will suspend him for life, like they did Pete Rose.

OK ... moving on ...

Today’s entertainment event is another New York Musical Festival (NYMF) event ...

5:00==>NIGHTMARE ALLEY - “After the mysterious death of a sideshow mind reader, a Depression-era con man finds himself the carnival’s new star attraction and falls in love with its sexiest starlet, “the electrocution girl.” Fueled by an inflated belief in his powers, they leave to seek fortune and fame on the nightclub circuit – only to realize that their past is never far behind.” (NYMF - discounted ticket)

This is a staged reading rather than a full-production but it still sounds interesting.

Moving on some more ...

The upcoming 7-days have now been booked for your favorite blogger ...

Tuesday - 5:00==>NIGHTMARE ALLEY (NYMF)

Wednesday - 7:00==>BILL W AND DR. BOB (Off Broadway)

Thursday - 5:00==>HOMO, THE MUSICAL! (NYMF)

Friday - 5:30==>BOYS WILL BE BOYS (NYMF); 8:30==>ROGER & TOM (Off Broadway)

Saturday - 8:00==>STORYVILLE (Off Broadway)

Sunday - 5:00==>CASTLE WALK (NYMF)

Monday - 8:00==>LET IT BE (Broadway)

Yeah ... pretty AWESOME ...  and the above schedule will also permit me to watch most of the Yankee games during that stretch.

Oh ... locally there is a nasty battle going on between my cable provider, Time Warner, and the local CBS station. Both company’s are using full-page ads in the papers to make their pitch ...

Time Warner==>“CBS IS GIVING NEW YORK A BLACK EYE. Why is CBS demanding 600% more in New York than the price we pay for CBS in other cities?”

CBS==>“SAY GOOD-BYE TO CBS? Time Warner Cable is threatening to hold your favorite TV shows hostage and drop CBS 2.”

Oh the drama ... only in NY kids ... only in NY.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.03 miles (or, 6,639 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/13==>85.66 miles (average 3.80 miles per day)

GO YANKEES!!
