THE 5 BROWNS==>AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL

Saturday==>Sorry for the delay in this posting but your favorite blogger was required to be in front of the tube beginning at noon to watch the Gators/Missouri game, carried locally on MSG.

Anyhow ... now we can get started with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s classical music concert ...

THE FIVE BROWNS @ Carnegie Hall, that featured works for multiple and solo pianos was==>AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL.

The 5 Browns, 3 sisters (Desirae, Deondra, Melody) and 2 brothers (Gregory, Ryan), all Mormons, were simply incredible. Not only did they perform as a group, they also each had a solo performance.

The highlights of the evening were Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring,” and Saint-Säen’s “Danse Macabre,” which was the final number. When it was complete the audience gave them a roaring standing ovation, something that rarely happens at Carnegie Hall.

My comp. seat was excellent, in the rear of the orchestra, center section.

The group has been in the news for other reasons. In February 2011 their father, Keith, who was their manager, accepted a plea agreement and entered pleas of guilty to multiple charges that he had sexually molested each of the 3 sisters when they were younger than 14. He was sentenced to 10-years to life.

The sisters have come forward to openly discuss what happened and have been active in supporting a foundation that deals with the physiological effects of childhood sexual abuse.

Anyway ... I left the concert with a huge smile of my face. I had walked over to Carnegie Hall before the concert. The weather was still nice so I walked back to PHC.

Tonight’s entertainment event is more classical music ...

8:00==>NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA @ Avery Fisher Hall - The program is: Rachmaninoff - Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, performed by Dirill Gerstein; and, Shostakovitch - Symphony No. 11. (free ticket)

One of the benefits of being a season subscriber is that you are given a free ticket for each series, meaning, as a 3-series subscriber I get to see 3 (duh) concerts in basically the same seating area as my subscription seat(s), for free. And, you get to choose which concert(s) you want.

Yep, an orchestra seat for a New York Philharmonic Orchestra concert on a Saturday night in New York City, The Greatest City In The World, for free. Can’t beat that, now can you?

Now ... on the sports scene, for Marty ...

Last night The St. Louis Cardinals kicked butt, winning 9-0 over The Dodgers to win the NLCS in 6-games and advance to The World Series for the 19th time.

Tonight at 8:00pm in that fetid cesspool known as Fenway Park The Boston FuckSox will play The Detroit Tigers in game 6 of the ALCS. As I posted yesterday, it is a win-or-go-home game for The Tigers.

Again ... sorry about the delay ... it is half-time and the Gators are losing 13-3 and our offense has been completely dismal and that is putting it mildly.

HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.33 miles (or, 9,470 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/13==>381.49 miles (average 3.47 miles per day)

GO GATORS!!
