Saturday Was A Great Doubleheader!!

Good morning everyone out there in the boondocks, wastelands, and hinterlands. I hope your weekend is going well, mine certainly is.

I want all of my loyal and faithful readers and followers who are Harry Potter fans to think about this ...

What is the answer? Please?

Anyway ... moving on ... as I had anticipated yesterday’s entertainment doubleheader was excellent, so let’s get right to Billi Pod’s reports cards on ...

NATIONAL PASTIME, about an Iowa radio station in 1933 that invents an unbeatable fake baseball team==>A.

Very talented cast performing in a pretty small space for some of the ensemble numbers. It was a lot of fun and was smile-inducing. It helped, of course, to understand the many references to baseball players who were to become legends, like, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig etc. etc.

The sold-out house was really into the show and I definitely recommend it.

The second entertainment event couldn’t have been more different. It was a 180ยบ change from the light musical comedy ...

TWO ROOMS, about an American professor who is held hostage in Lebanon as his wife waits anxiously back home in D.C.==>B+

A heavy drama with terrific acting. The story line is very troubling, of course.

My only quibble is that some of the crucial dialogue is virtually whispered. You know, this directorial choice always pisses me off because live theater has no rewind button for you to hear stuff again.

If you like Lee Blessing and heavy drama this is a show worth seeing.

Well, as my loyal and faithful readers and followers know, yesterday afternoon the F**KSox totally shut down the Bronx Bombers bats, winning by a score of 4-1 to even the series at 1-1.

Glad I wasn’t there, but I did watch it on TV.

Today is yet another doubleheader for Billi Pod ... first ...

2:00==>COUGAR THE MUSICAL - “Three divine but disillusioned women unleash their ‘inner cougar’ by dating younger men (played by one very sexy actor) and in the process, find self-love and empowerment.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This is playing at the St. Luke’s Theatre in my immediate ‘hood and as many of you loyal and faithful readers and followers will recall==>Billi Pod hates the box office manager at this venue.

Then for the evening it will be ... tada ...

8:00==>YANKEES/FUCKSOX @ Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built, for the last game of the 3-game series.

On the mound for the Bronx Bombers will be Hiroki Kuroda (11-8) vs. Josh Beckett (5-10), who is having a terrible year, for The F**kSox.

There is no rain in the forecast, Thank God!

The game is being carried on ESPN, meaning there will be unbelievably long pauses between innings for commercials etc ... meaning ... it will be after midnight when I finally get back to PHC.

Oh well, ain’t nothing I can do about this, so ...

Back to the beginning of this posting ... have you Harry Potter followers come up with an answer? If so, please email or text me.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.41  miles

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>210.34

Mileage remaining until 4/23/13==>868.66

GO YANKEES AND GO GATORS!!
