Aida In Concert, with Dottie - Urologist Appointment - Baseball - Something Funny

Wednesday==>We will get today’s posting started on a very positive note and that is Billi Pod’s entertainment plans for this evening ...

7:30pm==>ELTON JOHN & TIM RICE’S AIDA in Concert - “At the Nile’s edge, the enslaved Nubian princess, Aida becomes romantically entangled with the Egyptian captain, Radames, who is betrothed to the Pharaoh’s daughter, Amneris. As their forbidden love grows deeper, Aida is forced to find balance between her heart’s yearning for Radames, and her responsibility to lead her people.  Aida and Radames's love for one another becomes a shining example of true devotion that ultimately transcends the vast cultural differences between their warring nations, heralding a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity.” (Concert)

According to the press blurb: “Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida is a timeless love story, featuring an award-winning pop/rock score from the seasoned pop duo who brought musical life to Disney’s The Lion King. Rousing rock numbers and heart-wrenching ballads bring the ill-fated lovers into a new era.”

I saw this well-reviewed show multiple times when it had its long run on Broadway.

It is playing at the Walt Disney Theater @ Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando, for only two performances. The final performance is Thursday @ 7:30pm.

I will be seeing this with Dottie Harris, who will be providing the transportation to and from the show. Hooray!! Really really looking forward to the show and being with her again.

Now, moving on ...

I can also report to you loyal and faithful readers and followers that yesterday’s appointment with my new urologist, Thomas Cangiano, at his Altamonte Springs office, went OK.

Yeah, not only did I have the usual finger-up-the-butt procedure, I also had to experience a Prostate Ultrasound, which was kinda painful and very unpleasant.

I have a followup appointment for next Tuesday at 2:30pm when we will have the results of the biopsy.

Thankfully, my son Bill III was with me, and that was good because I was pretty much loopy and unsteady on my feet when it was over.

When I got back to the apartment, as expected, I spent the remainder of the day basically sitting around sucking my thumb.

Things were somewhat better at 8:00pm when it was time for the All-Star game, which, as you know, was won by the AL, giving them the home-field advantage in the next World Series.

Yeah ... I watched the game and it was pretty entertaining and just what I needed, although I have to admit to dozing off several times ... oh well ...

Moving on ...

Well, actually there ain’t gonna be much moving during the day because I have been instructed to take it easy during the day and not to do any extra walking until tomorrow.

So, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, you are now up-to-date and I will close with something funny ...

GO YANKEES!!

Monday’s Pedometer mileage==>5.39  miles (or, 11,708 steps)

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>1.05 miles (or, 2,313 steps)

Total mileage for 2015==>799.27 miles (average 4.10 miles per day)

Love the funny. Is no one giving any credit to Verdi who did a pretty mean version of Aida long before the Elton John/Time Rice combo. Just saying....
