Honoring "The Boss" Tonight

Dammit - I can’t believe I omitted mentioning tonight’s ceremony honoring “The Boss.”

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. with a special introduction behind home plate, followed by the unveiling of his monument, to be located just beyond the center-field wall.

Frank Sinatra Jr. will sing the national anthem prior to the game and the colors will be presented by the West Point Color Guard.

George’s granddaughter, Haley Swindal, will sing "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch in tribute to her grandfather.

George’s wife, Joan and all four of the couple's children -- Hal, Hank, Jennifer and Jessica -- are scheduled to be in attendance. Former Yankees manager Joe Torre and Don Mattingly will also be in attendance, marking their first return to the Bronx since leaving the Yankees in 2007.

The Yankees' principal owner since 1973 died on July 13 at the age of 80. Under the stewardship of "The Boss," the Yankees won seven World Series championships.

GO YANKEES!!
