Cancer Update

Friday==>My son Bill III aka The Bill and I have just gotten back from my appointment with my urologist, Dr. Cangiano.

The cancer has spread to the lymph nodes in my pelvic area but, thank God, not to the bones.

This the the doctor’s summary, on the usual 3x5 card, in his own handwriting: “Prostate cancer aggressive. Spread to lymph nodes in pelvis. Blocked kidney. Work up - oncologist, bloodwork, renal scan. Already on primary therapy, shot and pills.”

I have just made the appointment for the renal scan for next Wednesday. Will do the bloodwork on Monday. Awaiting a callback from the recommended oncologist.

Have a followup appointment with Dr. Cangiano for Friday, August 21st at 9:30am.

Bottom line==>not good news, but it certainly could have been a lot worse.

Truthfully, the results did not surprise me that much.

I still feel that we can==>KICK CANCER’S ASS.

My plans for today will be to remain in the cool and comfortable confines of my apartment to watch baseball, Little League and then the 7:07pm Yankees/Blue Jays game from Toronto.

KICK CANCER’S ASS!!

GO YANKEES!! GO GATORS!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.20 miles (or, 7,009 steps)

Total mileage for 2015==>933.63 miles (average 4.15 miles per day)

Could have been better news but sure could have been much worse. Fingers crossed that your next tests show very little more spread. In the meantime, I know you are enjoying The Bill, your comfortable digs, and baseball.
