KEEN TEENS & A FABLE

Saturday==>Your favorite blogger has to report to his loyal and faithful readers and followers that it is gray, overcast and very foggy this morning in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World.

Oh well, let’s just move on to ...

Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s Off Broadway show ...

2014 KEEN TEENS FESTIVAL OF NEW WORKS - “Three one-act plays written by professional playwrights specifically for teenage performers==>A-

The three one-act plays were excellent. The most involving one, to me, was WHY AREN’T YOU DEAD ALREADY, dealing with bullying and resulting teen suicide.

The house was full and, as I mentioned in yesterday’s posting, the on-stage energy of the talented young performers was palatable. I totally enjoyed the evening.

Billi Pod says==> definitely worth seeing.

It is playing at The Lion Theatre in The Theatre Row Complex on my West 42nd Street block, has a running time of 1:20, without intermission and the remaining performances are:

Saturday - 3:00pm & 8:00pm
Sunday - 2:00pm & 5:00pm

If you do decide to see it, I strongly recommend you arrive early because it is general admission seating and families and friends are there very early.

Moving on ...

Today’s scheduled entertainment event is an Off Broadway show ...

2:00==>A FABLE - “The epic adventure of Jonny, an idealist spurred on by love to right a long-forgotten wrong. Follow his encounters with a whole cast of characters – colorful and corrupt, lucky and ill-fated – as they each grope their way through a landscape of nationwide strife and corporate greed. A play of dualities that takes into question how each choice we make can drastically change our ending.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This drama is still in previews, it opens on May 28th, is playing at The Cherry Lane Theatre in The West Village, has a running time of 2:30, with one intermission, and runs through June 28th.

Weather permitting, after my show I plan to walk back to the apartment via The High Line.

Unless something really interesting shows up on one of my ticket services my current plans are to stay in for the evening to watch game 2 of the Yankees/Brewers series.

Last night The Bronx Bombers (19-15) won game 1 of the 3-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers (22-14) by a score of 5-3 on another good outing from our new ace Masahiro Tanaka, who advances to 5-0.

Tonight at 7:10pm it will be our former ace CC Sabathia (3-4) on the mound for The Yankees vs. Kyle Lohse (4-1) for The Brewers.

Time to post this and then get ready to head downtown to The West Village for my afternoon show ... so ...

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.04 miles (or, 6,650 steps)

Total mileage for 2014==>453.67 miles (average 3.52 miles per day)

GO YANKEES!!
