HARBOR==>B+

Friday==>Yes, your favorite blogger will give the usual TGIF shout out to all of his Worker Bee friends out there in the workplace miasma.

Just the usual friendly reminder==>your weekend does not ... repeat ... does not get started until at least 5:00pm and you know from prior experience that your bosses are watching you closely.

Remember ... your bosses are pissed off that they have to stay this late just to make sure you don’t leave early.

So ... with these warnings, let’s get today’s posting started with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s Off Broadway show ...

HARBOR, when fifteen-year-old Lottie and her ne'er-do-well mother Donna drop in unannounced on the beautiful Sag Harbor home of Donna's brother and his new husband, all hell breaks loose==>B+

There is a lot to like about this comedy/drama with excellent acting and just enough plot twists to keep the story line moving and involving.

I have to say that the Mother character, played by Erin Cummings, is one of the most unlikeable characters I have seen on stage in a long time. By the end of the 2 hour, with intermission, running time the yelling, screaming and cussing does get a bit old and redundant.

It has received mixed reviews but your favorite blogger enjoyed it so ...

Billi Pod says==>it is worth seeing. It runs through September 8th.

When the show was over I walked back to the apartment (2+ miles) and it felt great.

Today is the beginning of the New York International Fringe Festival (FF) and my first show is ...

5:00==>PERFECTLY NORMEL PEOPLE - “What happens when a clueless NYU freshman from Kansas moves in with a dysfunctional Italian family from Queens, in 1981? The only rule in the Normellino household is, whoever shouts loudest, gets heard.” (Fringe Festival - $9.00 TDF ticket)

Yes, my loyal and faithful readers and followers ... it is Normel in the title, not Normal. Yeah ... I know ...

It is playing down in The West Village.

At bit of info about the Fringe Festival ...

It is the largest multi-arts festival in North America, with more than 200 companies from all over the world performing for 16 days in more than 20 venues for 1200 performances, from August 9th through the 25th.

The FF has been one of my favorite entertainment events over the years and I anticipate seeing at least a dozen shows. The ticket prices are very reasonable. Yes, it is often a hit-or-miss proposition but that is part of the allure/challenge. Usually it is more hit than miss.

Moving on to the sports scene, of course ...

Tonight at 7:05pm at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built, The Yankees will host the Detroit Tigers in the first game of a 3 game series.

On the mound for the downward spiraling Wankies will be Ivan Nova (5-4) vs. Rick Porcello (8-6) for the Tigers, who are in first place in the AL Central.

Of course, the main event will be A-Rod’s return to the stadium. He will be greeted with the Bronx Cheer because he is a liar, cheat and disgrace to the franchise and MLB.

I have only 3 games remaining in my season-ticket package and it is my intent to boo him every time he comes to bat. Why? Because he is a liar, cheat and disgrace to the franchise and MLB.

BTW==>Billi Pod hates Tigers!!

So ... on this happy note ...

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Yesterday was a good walk and wander day ...

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>5.02 miles (or, 10,976 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/13==>139.02 miles (average 3.56 miles per day)

GO YANKEES!!
