Lang Lang - Marie Taylor - Carnival! - World Series

Wednesday==>Sorry for the delay in today’s posting but, as mentioned in yesterday’s blog, this morning I had a landmark tour downtown with my friend, Marie Taylor, and then a matinee performance for the afternoon. Details on both events will be in tomorrow’s posting ... so ...

Let’s get back on schedule with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s classical music concert at Lincoln Center ...

NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA @ Avery Fisher Hall - The program was:

Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 17;
Mozart - Overture to The Magic Flute; and,
Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 24

This one-night-only concert featured the young piano star Lang Lang and it was==>MW<==Musically Wonderful!!

This was a terrific concert and the audience was really into Lang Lang’s performance. He received a roaring standing ovation from the sold-out house when Concerto No. 24 was completed.

Yep, I left Avery Fisher Hall with a big smile on my face. It was just what Billi Pod wanted/needed.

As reported in yesterday’s blog posting, my intention was to subway back to my apartment so I could see as much of Game One of The World Series as possible.

Well, as most of you know, the game was basically a disaster for The Royals who fell behind 3-0 in the first inning and never recovered. The 7-1 final score doesn’t do justice to how much The Royals were dominated by The Giants and their starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner.

Game Two is at 8:07pm tonight, from Kansas City, carried on FOX.

On the mound for The Giants will be Jake Peavy (8-13) vs. Yordano Ventura (14-10) for The Royals.

Billi Pod plans to remain in the warm and cozy confines of PHC to watch the game on his 42” flat screen TV.

The entertainment event for the day is a matinee performance ...

2:00==>CARNIVAL! - “A musical based on the French movie LILI, about the strange adventure of Lili, a naive teenage orphan who turns up at the Carnival looking for her guardian, but ultimately she ends up becoming more than just a spectator.” (Off Broadway - $9.00 TDF ticket)

This 1960 musical has music and lyrics by Bob Merrill and is part of the Musical’s Tonight Series playing at The Theatre Row Complex on my West 42nd Street block. It has a running time of 2:30, with intermission, and runs through November 2nd.

So, my loyal and faithful readers and followers ... you are now up-to-date and, again, I am sorry for the delay.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.41 miles (or, 7,460 steps)

Total mileage for 2014==>1,203.44 miles (average 4.09 miles per day)

GO GATORS==>FIRE COACH MUSKRAT!!
