Bedbugs!!! It’s A Musical - A Walk In The Woods - Gators/Missouri

Saturday==>At 7:00pm is The Florida Gators vs. The Missouri Tigers game from The Swamp in Gainesville, FL, carried on ESPN2

This is our Homecoming Game and The Gators (3-2) are favored by 5 1/2 points over The Tigers (4-2), and, of course, your favorite blogger will be in front of his new (to him) 42” flat screen TV at kickoff time.

This could be the make-or-break game for the season and for Coach Muskrat’s future as a Gator.

Oh ... BTW ... do you loyal and faithful readers and followers remember that your favorite blogger hates Tigers? Well, for dozens and dozens of valid reasons he does ... so ...

GO GATORS!!

Now ... what about last night’s bug-infested show I know most of you are asking your inner selves ... well ... inner selves ... here it comes ...

Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s outstanding Off Broadway show ...

BEDBUGS!!! It’s A Musical, about Carly, an exterminator, who is hell-bent on avenging her mother's bedbug-related death. In an effort to permanently rid NYC of its infestation, she accidentally mutates the pests into an army of human-size, intelligent, carnal creatures out for blood and world domination==>A

Folks, this girl-meets-bug sci-fi-rock-musical-comedy earns its rave reviews as it pays homage to cult musicals and cheesy monster movies, with frenzied blood-sucking energy flowing from the stage and into the audience.

The staging and special effects are pretty amazing but it is the stellar cast that makes this a totally fun and special entertainment event.

The standouts are: Brian Charles Rooney as the famous Canadian singer Dionne Salon (think Celine Dion); Grace McLean as the exterminator Carly; Nicholas Park as Burt, Carly’s younger brother and lab assistant; and Chris Hall as Cimex the creepy bedbug King.

The house was sold-out and everyone seemed to be really into the show. I know I certainly was.

Yeah, I left the theatre with a huge smile on my face because the show was just what I needed/wanted to erase the mental anguish caused by my dental appointment earlier in the day.

Billi Pod says==>get thee to this show ASAP!!

It is playing at the Arclight Theatre on West 71st Street, has a running time of 2:15, with intermission, and runs through November 2nd. Plans are in the works to move it to another venue.

Moving on to today ...

This afternoon your favorite blogger has an Off Broadway show ...

2:00==>A WALK IN THE WOODS - “Two superpower arms negotiators, one a cynical Russian veteran played by Kathleen Chalfant, and the other an idealistic American newcomer played by Paul Niebanck, meet informally in the woods after long, frustrating hours at the bargaining table.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This Lee Blessing play is a fictionalized account of the meeting between Paul Nitze and Yuli Kvitsinsky, who took a ''walk in the woods'' during the 1982 Geneva peace talks and came up with their own deal, which was later turned down by the United States and the Soviet Union.

I have been wanting to see this show for some time solely because of Kathleen Chalfant. Thankfully, it showed up on one of my ticket services because its final performance is at 8:00pm tonight.

It is playing at The Theatre Row Complex on my West 42nd Street block and has a running time of 2:15, with intermission.

Then, as mentioned at the beginning of this posting, I will spend the remainder of the day/evening in front of my TV watching college football.

BTW==>Billi Pod HATES Tigers.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.87 miles (or, 10,652 steps)
