Wikimusical - Zombie Strippers - Yankees

Monday==>Good morning to everyone out there in the morass known as cyberspace.

We need to get this posting started because your favorite blogger here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, has an entertainment doubleheader scheduled for today. Yeah ... something kinda unusual for a back-to-work Monday ... so ... let’s get started with ...

Billi Pod’s report on yesterday's things and stuff ...

During the afternoon I stayed in the pleasant confines of my apartment, PHC, to watch the final game of the YANKEES/CINCINNATI series, details below.

Then it was another production from the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) ...

WIKIMUSICAL - Your Search Starts Here, this epic story of two estranged brothers who find themselves, quite literally, trapped in cyberspace explores how our preoccupation with the virtual world has affected our ability to live in the real one==>So-So.

There is a lot to like in this show - a stellar cast headed by Trey Harrington as Kurt and Perry Sherman as Peter, the estranged brothers, excellent choreography and mostly decent songs.

But ... and a huge butt ... the story line makes little sense and the plot twists are often confusing. And, at least 15 minutes needs to be cut from the 2:00+ running time.

I didn’t hate the show but it just didn’t click for me (pun intended) as I expected it to.

This production is playing at The Pearl Theatre on West 42nd Street, has a running time of 2:00, with intermission, and the remaining performance dates are: Tuesday, July 22nd @ 1:00pm and 5:00pm; and, Saturday, July 26th @ 9:00pm.

So ... now ... let’s move on to Billi Pod’s doubleheader, beginning with the first event ... another NYMF show ...

3:00==>ZOMBIE STRIPPERS - They Only Want You for Your Brains - “What do you get when you mix the Undead, Strippers, a horrible boyfriend, a Banshee, and a pop/dance score? ZOMBIE STRIPPERS! Part fast-paced farce, part sweet friendship story, all sexy and hilarious, this musical takes place in one wild night in a graveyard where one has come to mourn, one has come to murder, and many have come back from the dead.” (NYMF - full price ticket)

This show is playing at The Signature Theatre Complex on West 42nd Street, has a running time of 1:25, without intermission, and the remaining performance dates are: Friday, July 25th @ 9:00pm and Saturday, July 26th @ 1:00pm.

When the show is over I will race back to PHC to change clothes, have a banana, and then head out for the second part of my entertainment doubleheader ...

7:05pm==>YANKEES/TEXAS RANGERS @ Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed and Ego Built. (season ticket package)

On the mound for The Yankees (50-47) in the first game of a 4-game series against the struggling Rangers (39-59) will be Shane Green (2-0) vs. Miles Mikolas (0-2) for Texas

Yesterday afternoon The Bronx Bombers won 3-2 over The Cincinnati Reds to sweep the 3-game series. It was a strange win.

Yeah ... in the bottom of the 9th inning Brian McCann hit a blooper that fell in for a hit, allowing Jacoby Ellsbury to score the winning run. Hey, we’ll take a win anyway we can get one.

OK, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, time to post this and then work on my errands and chores list before heading out to my doubleheader ... so ...

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.53 miles (or, 9,906 steps)

Total mileage for the week==>28.20 miles (average 4.03 miles per day)

Total mileage for 2014==>776.91 miles (average 3.87 miles per day)

GO YANKEES!!
